When a military tyrant named Waxman receives covert communications from an agent believed lost in deep space, he prepares his army of giant soldiers for war with a faceless, deadly enemy known as the Shrie Shrie and an elusive driver named Cal.
Believing he has the upper hand, Waxman dispatches his own army of giant soldiers to lay down a path for annihilation. But his trust begins to waver when two of his strongest soldiers in Kayanai Blu and Iran Crowne begin to show signs of possible desertion or worse, treason.
As Kayanai wrestles with his own conscience, Waxman must entrust Jevan Khran, another waxen soldier whose prodigal return has made her his confidant to keep both Kayanai and Iran to the task at hand.
Yet with her own unique ability to fly the enemy ships that can travel the distance of space with the speed of a mere thought, she too finds herself cast under the quantum guise of being untrustworthy.
For like herself in this ability to fly alien technology endures Cal, the one responsible for the ceasefire to the lost war Waxman so desperately wants restored.
