Om TURNING OF EN-24 ALLOY STEEL
This book delves into enhancing machining performance for EN-24 alloy steel, a challenging material widely used in various industrial applications. Cutting fluids' impact on tool performance during CNC turning was investigated, comparing wet and dry conditions across different cutting parameters¿spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut. Using an L18 orthogonal array and Taguchi approach for optimization. Spindle speed emerged as crucial, contributing 73.34% to achieve superior surface quality (surface roughness) and 85.47% for prolonged tool life (Tool Wear Rate). All cutting factors (spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut) significantly impacted Material Removal Rate (MRR), showing their importance in maximizing productivity. This exploration underscores the pivotal role of spindle speed in surface quality and tool life, delineates optimal parameters for different outcomes, and emphasizes the multifaceted impact of cutting conditions on machining effectiveness for EN-24 alloy steel.
