God makes amazing promises about what He will do when his people truly live in repentance. Perhaps nowhere else in the Bible is this promise so clear as in Acts 3:19 (NASB): "Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord."
