Om The Representation of Blacks in MUENDE by Rodrigues Junior
In Rodrigues Junior's MUENDE we aim to understand the representation of the black man in colonial literature. Now, the representation of the other's image in colonial literature made by Europeans began with the expansionist movements in the need to exalt their achievements. With this, a literature emerged that sought to extol their values to the detriment of the land and its people, Africans, in the light of European ethnocentrism. Hence, the characters of European origin in many novels of this period are not only in the majority in relation to the black or mixed race characters, but are also better treated. In works that show special attention from the narrator, they may, in some cases, obtain the status of modeled characters.
