Our spiritual heart guides our actions and behavior. It speaks of our integrity or deceit, love or anger, obedience or rebellion. While sin has caused our imperfections, we all have the core ingredients for faith and obedience to have a relationship with God. The Heart of the Bible walks the reader through the Old Testament to demonstrate how relationships with God either flourished or withered away based on acting--or not acting--on those core ingredients. What do the actions of Cain and Abel, Ruth, Saul and David, and others teach us about the nature of the heart? What were the consequences of a contemptuous heart? What were the warnings from the prophets and their messages of hope in God's path for salvation? How will the heart be renewed in God's plan? After more than 35 years in the electric utility industry, Steve retired at the executive level in 2014. Originally from Boston, he now lives in the Phoenix area, where he enjoys playing golf year-round. He has a master's degree in Economics from the University of Missouri. He was raised in the Roman Catholic church now; as a follower of Christ in the Anglican church, he actively participates in Bible studies and online biblical classes and research, which culminated in the writing of this book.
