I thought winning the lottery would be a dream come true. Now, I'm not so sure. Up until last weekend, the entire focus of my twelve-year-old existence was soccer, school, and playing pranks on my sister, Maeve. (It's not my fault she's afraid of spiders!) Then my teacher's assignment shifts that focus to what everyone else has been talking about-the biggest lottery, ever. The chance of winning it is one in eleventy billion. (So, you know, practically impossible.) But...we do. Thanks to a ticket I beg my dad to buy. You'd think that would be the beginning of a fantastic, fun-filled story.
