Table Time

Betty is in tears, they are moving and their family dining table has sold. But her unsympathetic husband says, "The table isn't important, it is what happens at the table that matters" This book is about both, the table, and what happens at the table. "Table Time" is an opportunity to step back in time and learn about the evolution of tables, cultural norms and manners from an era when people used their fingers to eat and knives were not even invented. It is an invitation to sit with people from all over the world as they share their table experiences with you. You will be entertained in Chronos (calendar) time, but discover it is in Kairos, or God's time, that lives are changed. You will read about friendship and forgiveness, how faith overcomes fear, and that "Table Time" is where life happens and memories are made; you may even experience your own Kairos moments. The author was born in Scotland. At age twelve she migrated with her parents and seven siblings to Tasmania, Australia. She graduated with an R.N. degree, and set out across the Pacific to Scotland, where she had been accepted into a graduate program. However, plans changed, she met and married her engineer husband. They have four children, seven grandchildren and a great grandson. She is well known as a speaker in both the U.S., and overseas. She lived in South Korea and China and has travelled extensively. She currently resides in Kodiak, Alaska. "Table Time" is her fourth book. The first, "Destination Holiness" is a daily devotional; and "Life by the Lynn", is about experiences with her husband as Caretakers at an Alaskan Retreat Centre.
