Om Spilt Blood
These are accounts of events that took place during the 19th and early 20th century in an area known as Slieve Lauchra, an ill-defined area in North Cork and East Kerry in the Barony of Duhallow Ireland, largely as a result of political agitation caused by poor land tenure, and a lack of tenant rights. While Nationalism dominated Irish politics, unemployment, social and economic issues forced many to emigrate in order to seek a better life. Included in this edition is the tale of Daniel (Dannie) Buckley, a native of Boherbue and Ballydesmond (Kingwilliamstown); from his survival on Titanic to his final return home to Ireland, "When the Fields are White with Daisies".
