Second Year

In the fall of 1967 Rachael Conner returns to Weldon School, excited about what her Second Year promises and delighted to be an 'old student' at last. All is well in her world until the headmistress asks her to audition for a play about racial issues. What better way to spotlight her differences from her school friends? But the world catches up with Rachael and the other Weldon students during this tumultuous school year, as war, politics, and racial strife shake the outside world and leak through the crevices in the brick walls of this venerable New England institution.
