Savannah Night Songs

In her debut poetry novella, Savannah Night Songs, Teresa Post explores themes of pain and beauty found within the thought landscape of an entire generation; which she affectionately dubs "the indigo generation". This epic is both a novel and poem, fascinatingly intertwined that both entrances the reader and takes them on a journey of love, loss, and rediscovery of the magic all around us. Set on the mythical backdrop of Savannah, Georgia, Evie struggles to maintain her consciousness in her current reality. Opting instead of stay mostly in a daydream state, musing on the philosophy of the world around her and questioning the truth in it. Along with a colorful cast of characters that serve as her friends and family, she navigates through Savannah longing for freedom and coping with never really fitting in. She meets a mysterious stranger that joins her in this other place of thought; compelling, but not permanent.
Savannah Night Songs reminds us of the bittersweet to be found in loss, the tragedy of fleeting moments, and dazzling snippets of time that we can't help but to carry with us the rest of our lives.
