It just takes a bloody blood sample
a damn plain chest xray
or a teeny tiny lump palpated accidentally
When it's someone else,
it so easily turns into a case!
A rare case
An interesting case
A treatment failure
A surgical complication
Incurable! A sad case
A number! A sample!
A morbidity! A mortality!

A case study
Until, one day, the coin flips
and the case is you
or the one you cannot live without
or the one you cannot breath without
Then it suddenly turns into pain
The pain that rips you apart
a million times, in a million ways
