Hartford the hedgehog was walking to town . . .
Hartford sighed and he frowned, and he looked at the ground,
for he was born missing spines on his head and his side-
and even a patch on his back and behind!
Hartford the Hedgehog wants to make new friends but he's afraid that all anyone will notice about him are his missing spines. On a down-hearted stroll through the town one day, he meets a seal, a penguin, and a cheetah-all of whom also have a little something about themselves that makes them feel insecure. Can they help each other out with the hand of friendship?
