Mongolian Gerbil Care

The Mongolian gerbil, or Meriones unguiculatus, is a tiny rodent found in the grasslands and deserts of Mongolia and China.
It is also known as the Mongolian jird. It is a member of the family Muridae and is a common tiny pet due to its endearing appearance and sociable nature.
The Mongolian gerbil is easily recognizable by its round, fat body, short limbs, and long, fluffy tail. They can be found with fur hues ranging from agouti and cinnamon to black and white. In their natural environment, they dig burrows, so they have huge, black eyes and long, curled claws.
