Love Led Me Out

In this memoir, Abigail Jewell shares her story of growing up in fundamental evangelical church spaces in the U.S. and slowly shifting from a worldview of dichotomy and certainty to one of liberating compassion. Her story, echoed by many who left the church during the 2016 presidency or pandemic lockdowns, to never return, is both an personal narrative on faith and love, and collective invitation to heal. "Healing is not always linear, and even when we're healed- doctors giving us permission to unlace the boot, to cut the cast, to meet for therapy less frequently, encouraged to climb again- we are not who we once were.
