I've always known that people don't care for me. At least, my own kind, the fae, don't. I'm used to being looked over, pushed aside. I've never found the key to change things. So the last thing I was ever expecting was for my wildest dreams to come true in the form of a necklace. Now I have the attention of the cousins Jeremy and Oliver Higgins. I've liked one for the longest time and the other makes me feel seen. But how could they truly like me, when everything they see now is fake and everything they feel for me isn't real. I don't know how I never noticed her until this year, we've been going to the same school for years, but with her being a Sophomore and me a Junior, I guess our paths never crossed until an ex-girlfriend of mine had me join the dance committee for the Homecoming dance.
