Occasionally you'll unravel
Trying to start again
You might break a needle
Or damage the spool
Change your mind on colors
Or patterns, fabric or stitch
You'll get excited and try it on
Before it's fully done
Maybe seeing the potential
Or focusing on the incompleteness-
Then live in those emotions for a bit

One day you'll finish it
Expecting it to last well
Into your thirties
Then you'll realize
You can make a better one
So you start from scratch,
But you don't start with nothing
You'll use all the lessons
From the sweater before
