Om Have You Ever Felt Trapped?
As a former Bosnian refugee, I know about the fragility of moments and the stunning speed with which circumstances can change. During the course of the Bosnian Genocide, a sniper shot through the window of my family's apartment. My Mom and I witnessed bullets drop two inches away from us. We could have been killed. My Mom immediately grabbed me and ran out of our apartment. It was a miracle that we managed to survive. Negativity can make one feel like there is no escape. It can put people into situations where they don't know what to do or where the exit is difficult to find. It's painful to be a witness to darkness. I think that hardship and obstacles should be openly discussed. If they are directly addressed in their earlier stages, then maybe a solution can be made. Have You Ever Felt Trapped? is a poetry book that chronicles different situations that a person might face over the course of their life. May it encourage you to be the winner in your own life and to find a way out!
