Growing Cranberries

Vaccinium is a genus of evergreen dwarf shrubs, and the name "cranberry" can mean either the fruit or the plants themselves. These plants can be found in the cooler areas of North America, namely in acidic bogs.
There are many culinary uses for the little, crimson, and acidic cranberry fruit. Juice, sauce, or dried cranberries are common ways to eat these berries. Cranberry sauce, made with these fruits, is a seasonal favorite that goes well with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.
There may be some health benefits to eating cranberries. Their antioxidant content and potential health benefits to the urinary system have led many to believe in them. Cranberries also include a number of beneficial minerals, including vitamin C and E as well as fiber.
Commercial cranberry production is a significant economic driver in some areas, in addition to the many culinary and medicinal uses for the fruit.
