Om Finding Yesterday One Memory At A Time
Yesterday seemed so long ago, and then I remembered. It's in writing, my writings. Growing up in a small northern Michigan town, graduating high school in the mid-fifties, writing has always intrigued me. In my late twenties the opportunity to write a weekly column in the local newspaper was a wonderful gift from the editor. From then on it was a thought here, a memory there; jot it down for later. A sixty-two-year marriage, three sons, two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, owning and operating a Hallmark shop, raising sheep, living on a small farm what's not to write about? Think of the opportunity to lead our church's choir for twenty-nine years without a formal music education; later becoming a lay speaker in our denomination. I never imagined a book would become a gathering place for my memories. There are a long line of yesterday's, waiting in this book.
I hope you'll read and enjoy them with me.
