Faces of Freedom

My photographs cover five events of the Ukrainian-American communities of Broward and Palm Beach counties, in south Florida, from Ukraine Independence Day 2022 in Delray Beach to Ukraine Independence Day 2023 in West Palm Beach. These are not all of their events in that year, nor is everyone photographed. Instead, these are brief glimpses into the hearts and passions of the people, their stories as told by their faces of freedom. I am an articulate man, but the horrors of this invasion and the strength and tenacity of the resistance renders me speechless, with both fear and admiration. Then I pick up my camera and with my photographs I can speak again. This photography book is dedicated to the nation and people of Ukraine, and to the Ukrainians who have made their home in the United States, and to their families and friends in Ukraine who are holding the door against unspeakable aggression, and to the Americans who support them. Every American citizen is being protected by that door. And history teaches us that unanswered aggression will eventually arrive at one's own doorstep. Slava Ukraini! Glory to Ukraine!
