Engendering Modernity

This book examines the debates around modernity and postmodernity from the viewpoint of feminist theory. The author assesses classical social theory, theories of the Enlightenment and the more recent modernity/postmodernity debates arguing that at each stage, social theory has failed to give enough attention to questions of gender.
