Deviations

Dita leaves the rat race to go on the UK road to find herself. On the way there she finds beauty, nature, drugs, sex, love, a dead body, poetry, and the incandescent holiness of many a lonely cafe. This is Dolly Sen's first book, written in her 20s, inspired by Kerouac's ON THE ROAD, the first book she read where she saw being a writer was a possibility. She dropped out of school at 14 with no qualifications and people told her she couldn't be a writer. She didn't listen to them and wrote this book to save her own soul.
