Om Das zweite Kolberger Stadtbuch 1373-1436
With the second Kolberger Stadtbuch the history of this Pomeranian Hanseatic city around 1400 can be rewritten and appropriately. Thanks to the thousands of entries in this source, the city of Kolberg, with its topography and the people involved around 1400, is clearly visible. The mostly quite short, legally binding entries deal, among other things, with the sale of rights to the saltworks, which is important for the city or they relate to houses in the city, for example in the case of debt registrations. Their location is usually given very precisely. The edition enables the reconstruction of the medieval topography of the city (gates, streets, town hall, bathhouse) as well as the progressive "petrification" in house construction. In addition, the important (council) families of the city show themselves in their changing ownership and in their concern for memoria, for example through vicariate foundations or the support of the poor.
