Om Compromise!
Compromise is a very big word, and it is a great word to add to a kid's reading vocabulary! Compromising means that you think about and consider both sides of something about which two or more people may disagree, and then you find a solution that is acceptable to everyone. Maybe it means you give in, but for a good reason, like sharing. Our hero in this book has two apples, for example; and the elephant wants one of the apples. Our hero compromises and doesn't keep both apples for himself (like he wants to do) because sharing and caring win out over selfishness, just as caring and sharing should.
Written by the award winning author, attorney and former teacher, Penelope Dyan, and illustrated with Dyan's fun and familiar characters, this fun,'learn to read' book filled with word recognition, word recognition and rhyme is meant to get a kid thinking and talking about this very important subject. Written in its simplest terms, Penelope Dyan hopes to make the understanding of this topic and word easier for a child to understand.
