Boy, Kant You Read!

This work was inspired by a few people I read when I was young.
Edgar Allen Poe, who probably inspired everybody to write poetry.
Raph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, Stevie Wonder, and other great songwriters,
Later in life, a person who showed me through his writings that what I was doing was alright was Langston Hughes. It was you who showed me poetry was not something learned and adhered to, but something written from the soul, from the heart.
I would like to dedicate this chapbook to the love of my life, my wife Kathleen Ann Drummond,
Who died on July 31, 2023. She loved my writings and tried to push me to publish them. I always thought I would do so, perhaps after retirement... I'm so ashamed. It took her death, for me to realize how wrong I was to wait so long before fulfilling her dream. To Kathy, I dedicate this work and others that will follow to you, I only wish you were here to enjoy it with me.
