This book is part of a collection of poems that I have written through the years. Many of my poems are about nature and people in my life, or people who have shaped our state and nation. I have been amazed and inspired by well-known American heroes and unknown American heroes. Every person you meet has a story, and it is an honor to share some of their stories.Poetry became part of my life in the fifth grade, after memorizing, In Flanders Fields, by Lt. Col. John McCrae. The poem was written after Lt. Col. McCrae presided over a funeral for a fellow soldier.
