Om AGE BRINGS THEM HOME TO ME
This book of poems is about acknowledgment. Acknowledgement is the acceptance of truth or existence of something. Acknowledgement is about indebtedness to others. This book recognizes that both types of acknowledgment are interwoven. The poet expresses her gratitude to her ancestry, to her family, to the love of her wife, the love of her four-legged companions and to her connection to place and nature. She also reflects on the concept of loss whether it be through aging, the destruction of the environment, untimely death or the distortion of truth. At the same time a sense of hope is woven throughout the book and often rests within the evocative images of the natural world.
