Home After the Maple

The residue of the pandemic of 1918 is sprinkled throughout Modernist Literature in subtle, less direct, and often abstract ways. In the post-pandemic world of the 2020s, how did writers and artists experience and express this period, its shift in perception and solitude? In this collection of poetry, author Hassan A. J. attempts to distill his own experience being stranded in graduate school in the mountains of Vermont, and the aftermath. As as Creative Writing educator, lessons in craft become part of his creative expression, along with meditations on exile, mental health, hope, and unresolved grief.
