Depression, Anxiety, and the Child of God is a book that has been long overdue. It is a book that takes the taboo out of being a Christian and suffering with emotional issues. All throughout the Bible, we see accounts of great people of God being afraid, depressed, panicking, even thinking suicidal thoughts. If the Bible speaks about these issues, why don’t we? Far too long the church has been silent and lacking the education to deal with these things. Today is a brave new world with new challenges that pastors and clergy from days gone by never had to deal with—the dismantling of the family unit, pornography, a sexually permissive, anti-Biblical and anti-moral society. The church has lost all of its significance and effectiveness. The church has no clout or relevande today letting the important ones fall to the wayside. We are a laughing stock to the world today, known only by our hatred of certain select peoples and pet peeve sins. Why aren’t we known for Christ’s love, his redemption available to all, and Christ’s high standard of moral excellence? No, we have become like the world and with it we have acquired the world’s problems, including depression and anxiety. This devotional and book set (sold separately) attempts to turn all of that on its side just as Christ turned this world upside down. We are due for a flip, and Pastor Scott hope to make that flip back to true Christianity through his life’s work put into this project.

  • - Part 1 - What in the World is Going On?
    av Scott Kraniak
    239,-

    S. R. Kraniak is the pastor of the Centereach Bible Church, a small church in Long Island, NY (www.cbctruth.com). He has been pastor there since 2006. Pastor Scott is 51 years old as of this writing and married for over 26 years to his best friend, Julie; they have three boys—Jacob, Aaron, and, their youngest, Luke—who were all home schooled. Pastor Scott, besides serving Jesus Christ and being a part of the hot rod ministry, also enjoys old Jeeps of which he mentions often in this book. His dream isto be able to travel the country and speak on depression and anxiety in the church today. Some might not like his hard-nosed approach to life, his way of treating depression and anxiety, his Gospel presentation, and doing what’s right, but that’s just how he is—old school preaching without being afraid to talk about sin and God’s justice as well as His love. His favorite authors are A. W. Tozer, Watchmen Nee, Dietrich Bonhoffer, David Wilkerson, and Ray Comfort plus many, many more old school preachers. Pastor Scott was raised a Roman Catholic, turned atheist, dabbled a short time in the occult, and even played drums in the heavy metal music scene of the 1980s before coming to know Jesus Christ as Lord.

  • av Louis Schavie
    279

In this memorable accounts by ALS survior Louis R. Schavie, the author proves that life’s greatest lessons can come from at look at the past. Growing up in Chicago during the Depression era, Schavie found happiness in the simple joys in life, like jumping on the back of a wagon or grabbing a chunk of fallen ice from the iceman’s wagon on a  hot day. With his friends. He played pranks around town, living his boyhood to the fullest. His ambition to excel is seen through the tales of his work life, which inspires  readers to look for their own paths to success. But perhaps his greatest lessons come from the people in his life-his coworkers, his fellow fighters, his friends, and most  importantly, his family. Through these people, Schavie shows that life is better when you experience it together.A delight to read, the best example of true success in life comes from experiencing the Memoirs of a Bygone Era.

  • - Isaiah's Refutation of Occultism and Call for Reliance upon Yahweh
    av Arthur Michael Gray
    279

Our post-modern world has changed little from the time of the prophet Isaiah.Threatened by war, disease, famine, and financial ruin, modern man finds himself driven to place his reliance upon the knowledge of men, finding a sense of assurance in material wealth, modern medicine, and technology, rather than God.In the eighth century BCE, Israel was also threatened by war, disease, famine, and financial ruin, and they too sought out some guarantee of survival. Like modern man, they placed their reliance upon the knowledge of men finding assurance in the occult arts rather than God. Yet Isaiah was a revolutionary. He had experienced God in all his holiness. The prophet had come to know God as the Sovereign God of the universe, who, when compared to the limited potency of magic and divination, was the potent living God. Seeing his people walking in the dark ways of man, Isaiah viewed it as his task to demonstrate the ineff?ectiveness of occult practices. Isaiah was compelled to cry out to his people: Come! Let us walk in the light of the Lord! The prophet was imploring his people to reject the occult and to place their complete reliance upon God alone or face disaster.

  • - Studying the Voices of Abraham, Job and Isaiah
    av Arthur Michael Gray
    239,-

"The process of lament is a spiritual bridge that allows each of us to encounter God in all of his fullness: holy, approachable, sentient, compassionate, and responsive to our suffering. In response to our cries for help God hears and provides a bi-level solution, one at the existential level, and one at the level of destiny."This book demonstrates that the laments of Abraham, Job, and Isaiah epitomize a faithful and spiritually healthy response to human suffering. Each lament represents the voice of an affected individual calling upon God to hear and act. Lamentation exemplifies the lamenter's faith that God will hear and respond with favorable action. One of the most significant functions of God's response to our lament is to demonstrate that he alone controls all of creation. And yet, God reveals himself to be even more than the living Sovereign God who controls the universe and all things within it. He is revealed as the sentient merciful God who seeks to establish and guide the lives of each one of us. For this reason, lament is fundamental to sustaining and deepening our relationship with God.

The Doomsday Clock is declaring a warning to this world. Whether or not people are listening is irrelevant; the clock is ticking. There is a spiritual doomsday clock ticking away as well. It is a countdown to spiritual catastrophe, as well as spiritual accountability. Mankind has plummeted into deep darkness in their morality, leaving a gaping hole between them and the Living God-that, my friend, spells catastrophe. Then, on the other hand, the clock is ticking to a judgment that every man, every woman, the rich and the poor alike, will have to attend. That spells accountability. In 3 Minutes to Midnight, Pastor Chuck Salvo endeavors to rebuild the walls of biblical truth by destroying the antibiblical world views of our day.A spiritual catastrophe is upon us, and the doctrines of devils have permeated our culture. While the clock continues to tick, you and I can be prepared by holding true to biblical doctrine and not be swayed by the breath of a wicked system. The doctrines of devils have filled the atmosphere, and many fall to their wicked deceptions. But those who are submitted to God's spirit will recognize those doctrines as being nothing but bad breath.

    av Monica Trickey

I spent a total of thirty-plus years living in Alaska, everywhere from Barrow, which is way up at the very top of the state, right on the Arctic ocean where the polar bears live, to Anchorage, the largest city in Alaska. I moved there with my family back in 1974 during the days when the Trans Alaska Pipeline was being built. I was ten years old. My dad was a truck driver and hauled cargo between Prudhoe Bay and Valdez. My mother took a lease on a little restaurant called the Milepost Cafe in our little town of Copper Center, right on the Copper river, which was a major stopping point back then for truckers doing the runs from Prudhoe Bay to Valdez. This is my story.

  • - The Legacy of James Shipley, World War II Tuskegee Airman
    av Jeremy Paul AEmick
    199,-

James Shipley came of age in the once segregated, rural community of Tipton, Missouri. When just a young man working for a local mechanic, a chance meeting at his local post office in the early 1940s inspired his enlistment in the 301st Fighter Squadron of the 332nd Fighter Group-an all-black organization that would go on to earn the famed moniker of both "Redtails" and "Tuskegee Airmen" during the Second World War. As a mechanic with the 332nd, this book highlights Shipley's time in training in the United States, follows him through his service at airfields in Italy and his return home after the end of the war. Previous works on the Tuskegee Airmen have often focused on the experience of the pilots and officers who served in the 332nd, but rarely provides insight into the integral contributions of the enlisted mechanics suchas Shipley. Together as One shares of the story of Shipley and the unspoken heroes, recording their dedication to the aviation success of the Tuskegee Airmen even when they had to live and work within a military framework that once denied them some of the very freedoms for which they fought.
