Silent Tears is a story of tragedy and triumph. It chronicles one woman''s struggle through various life situations that caused her anguish of the mind, body and soul. In our efforts to prevent others from seeing what is really happening in our lives, we have a tendency to mask ourselves, pretending that everything is fine, when in reality, we know we are not walking in truth. Sometimes, we view the shedding of tears as a sign of weakness, so in order to avoid having this stigma placed upon ourselves, we refuse to allow ourselves to cry openly when the need arises. Keeping painful emotions, thoughts and feelings locked up inside ultimately damages us and prevents us from becoming who God created us to be. Take this journey with the author through her own Silent Tears, and allow her to share the story of how God moved her from tragedy to triumph and from despair to deliverance.

Transparency is described and honest, open and not secretive. And while that is true, it is not always easy to be. Not telling the truth comes from a place of fear within. Therefore, it is easier to hide because one cannot be subject to mockery and judgment. I was living in my own little world that took great energy and produced a great amount of stress. Over time, I eventually anesthetized myself. As I continued to write, the I was reminded that in order too completely heal and be fully restored, I had to face the pain and tell the whole truth, I did not think I could survive.

Surgical Psalms contains 36 reflections about the author’s experiences of diagnosis and surgical recovery from colon cancer. These reflections seek spiritual dimensions of his situation. The author drew from the Psalms to reflect on various aspects of this experience. As the background to Surgical Psalms states, “I wrote these reflections for my own spiritual understanding, to think about and respect the path of life and death. These are issues, experiences and paths which other people deal with; perhaps my reflections might assist others in finding and following their spiritual path.” The author acknowledges great gratitude to God, “for all His guidance and healing, and for all the people who acted as His instruments and guides for my surgical path - surgeon, doctors, nurses, family, friends, priest, and particularly my wife.”

It was a role she never expected to fill, but Linda Jenkins was soon thrust into a life of unpredictable days, lonely nights, and searing grief. For eighteen years she watches her mother give more and more of herself to Alzheimer’s disease from the seat of primary caregiver. Nothing could prepare her for what this new path would entail: navigating insurance issues, the healthcare system, financial concerns, hospice, and a panel of doctors, nurses, and caregivers. To Helen with Love is written with humility, faith, and love in the face of a dark and ravaging disease. She candidly addresses her fears, her doubts, and her grief as time ushers her through one obstacle after another. A practical and helpful memoir, the book is filled with resources, advice, encouragement, and hope; she finds humor and joy where it shines brightly through the fog and captures it all in her recollections of her mother’s last years. With insight on advocacy, best practice, and the emotional spectrum common among caregivers, Linda Jenkins offers information, support, and inspiration in her mother’s memory. Her faith was challenged in ways she could never have dreamed of, but with the love of God and her mother, she rose to the challenge and learned about herself, her family, and her faith.

In the midst of crisis, we are placed in the waiting room of life to await God''s promises to be revealed. Yet, in the waiting room, we struggle with feelings of uncertainty, anxiety and discouragement. Authors Dr. Wanda McNair and Dr. Nellie Jones attests to this situation, experiencing a mother''s health crisis when Dr. Jones underwent a sudden health scare. Their new book, Don''t Die in the Waiting Room, utilizes this event in the authors'' lives to explain God''s work in life''s seasons: detailing six spiritual seasons that help us to persevere in tribulation and be content in whatever state. The authors use their own experience, as well as the life story of King David, to explain the process of planting the seed to reaping the harvest during crises. The hope is seeing the spiritual seasons help us not to give up on God and expecting His promises to emerge.

If ever there was a time we needed God''s encouragement, comfort, and stability, it''s now. Yet often times it''s difficult to say the right thing at the right moment when someone is hurting, sick, or ready to give up on life. This book, Safe-Harbor, Meditations in the Storm was born out of a desire to encourage loved ones around me that were going through difficult times. I found that encouraging someone not just by speaking words, but giving them encouragement in writing, would allow them to read over those words in their own quiet time, over and over again. This is the kind of book that can continue to breathe life in someone''s day, through short devotions, and Bible passages that coincide with the message. It''s the perfect book to buy and keep on hand, to refer to when encouraging someone, or to give as a gift for that someone who is experiencing difficulty in their life. An example of devotion titles are, He is Near to the Brokenhearted, Speak Lord Speak, Regrets-Keep the Drawer Closed, Can You Pass the Problem Please, Silencing the Soul, and Can I Come Home Now Lord? and so many more, that promise to bring God''s hope, and His soothing touch to someone''s soul.Join me as I find a quiet place, cuddle up, and read Safe-Harbor, Meditations in the Storm, and expect to be transported to a peaceful, safe harbor, in the arms of Jesus.

Author Jimmy Mitchell doesn''t shy away from the issue in marriage today: divorce is rampant, especially among Christian couples. His solution to this issue is his latest book, Walking Together As One Flesh, a Christian marriage guide that combines daily life in marriage with kingdom principles from the Bible. Jimmy focuses on God''s design for marriage, putting Christ first in the relationship as the couple leave and cleave from their former single lives. He defines that marriage is two becoming one flesh as a married couple, which is helped through developing a marriage vision, sex in marriage and even the power of walking together. Using his own thirty plus marriage to wife Yvette as an example, Jimmy believes if spiritual intimacy is achieved for a couple, in all areas of life, then restoring broken marriages is possible and couples can continue to thrive in love and respect as one flesh.

We''ve all probably heard the title of this book before, "success within your grasp", while in conversation or in the news, but may believe that success is not possible in certain situations, or at all, for us.However, what if you examined your steps toward success and noticed that the reason for your lack of success could be due to your attitude, inner thoughts or people around you offering defeating advice? Author Hamilton Williams, who also authored the health program, Total Health Seminars, has witnessed through his experience with managing the health of others that success lies strongly in people''s approaches toward success. His new advice guide, Success Within Your Grasp, concentrates on encouraging readers to assess their behaviors toward situations in their lives to realize where their outlook could be shaped to become more positive and motivating. Hamilton begins his guide with the strongest component to evaluate within the reader: one''s attitude. He clarifies that the power of choice differentiates people from animals: in terms that people can view their situations and make the best decisions/choices for the situation after careful thought and reason. The conversation continues with discussing ways readers can re-shape their attitudes, manage their "inner worlds", which are inner thoughts about their situations, and practice discipline that leads to perseverance toward their goals. There is also advice from Hamilton about how to handle the naysayers in one''s life and re-direct a negative mindset toward one God would be pleased to enlighten.Success Within Your Grasp is not to be viewed as a one-time read, but a necessary resource readers should actively consult with when managing their goals and situations. Hamilton even develops the acronym RSVP (Read, Study, Visualize, Perform) to coach readers on how best to implement the advice steps.Success can be seen in our paths, if we take the time to evaluate our goals and re-coordinate our efforts to become the successes God has determined for us.

REVELATION Today in the 21st century, there is much talk about revival, but very little manifestation of it. Is there a deeper issue? Do we desire the fruit without the root? Has God hidden His face from us and we don''t perceive it? These are hard questions we need to consider. During the heat of the reformation, Martin Luther took a stand against the false teachings that were practiced and preached in his day and age. We need to, in our generation, take a stand for truth if we want to deal with the root issues.REPENTANCE If you are genuinely concerned about what you see, with the staleness that is there among Christians, a nation that has moved away from God, our pulpits that are powerless to stem the sweeping tide of sin; if you are thus concerned, let me also go a step further and humbly ask the reader to look within and see into one''s own heart and join me in asking, "Have I in my lifetime seen a genuine revival?" A revival where God moves into a community like times of old; where sin is arrested, shops are shut down and work stopped as people have an awareness of God and the fear of God gripping the community?  RESTORATION We sadly have to admit that, we have seen rockets sent to Mars, social media revolution with twitters, chats and Facebook, but we are lacking the power of God in our beloved land, that was evident in the book of Acts or in Church history. Let us consider our ways and pray that God will use what is written to challenge us, convict us and change us for the glory of God; to once again seek God for a genuine revival that only He can bring. God never promised He would protect us from experiencing problems in this world. In fact, in a broken world, it is certain that we will have difficulties throughout life. But God has promised that when we walk with Him we will be able to battle those problems differently and more effectively than if we walk without Him.In BEDROCK, Kent Adrian explains that the key to handling life isn''t found in ourselves, or in what is happening to us, but rather in what we believe about the character of God. There are bedrock beliefs about God that will transform the way we look at what happens to us in life, thus changing the way we respond to life.Kent looks at how we develop our trust in who God is and how we can experience a greater strength and confidence in facing whatever life may bring. Behind it all is the conviction that the gospel is essentially a restored relational dynamic with God (a focus many are losing in the way they think about and live out their faith) and the difference that can make in our lives if we allow it.Kent Adrian is pastor of Shepherd Road Presbyterian Church in Lakeland, Florida, and has served as a pastor for over 30 years. He is also President and Executive Director of Life Impact Connections, Inc., a Christian speaking and resource ministry. The goal of this ministry is to counter the various forms of a me-centered gospel so prevalent today with the genuine God-centered gospel and to emphasize the life-giving impact of this gospel. Kent is a graduate of Wichita State University (B.A. Business Administration) and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (M-Div.).

Peter 1:3-4 "as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature,". God revealed Himself to man in the beginning and has throughout history. Many of those that God revealed Himself to He also instructed to write down what He told them. Much of what He said and did in the earth, has been through covenants and promises that He made with different men. We have our Bible, God''s Word because of the covenant that God made with Abram, and his seed. Much of our Bible is about Abraham''s descendents; and their successes and failures to walk according to the covenants. The New Covenant is given not to eliminate the earlier covenants but to reveal the second Adam, the Son of God, Jesus our Lord. This New Covenant is between God the Father and the Man Christ Jesus our Lord, the seed of the woman, the seed of Abraham and the Son of David. He walked out the covenants and requirements without failure. He also revealed and demonstrated the love and heart of the Father for His creation. When Jesus had completed His ministry, He finished His work, in that He took the necessary punishment to bare our sickness, pains, anguish and sin upon Himself, to and on the cross at Calvary. He also gifted His righteousness to all that believe in Him and trust Him for this new life of salvation. He shed His sinless blood to establish this New Covenant in all that it provides for His heirs. Now all that is required of us, is believe it and receive His grace and promises by faith. So we must read or hear the words of the Covenant, in order to know what we have been graced with now and in the future. Hallelujah! Amen!

Lack of recognition is the biggest problem for eliminating shame. Many who are burdened by shame do not even realize the name for the intense emotion that they feel. The effects of shame are also found throughout the pages of Scripture. In fact, the first negative emotion from the first sin was shame! Satan used that vile trick immediately with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden! That fact alone says something about the strength of the weapon of shame in Satan''s hands.
