  • - Inspiring Tales of Vulnerable Children
    av Marilyn Siden
    259,-

It was a downright hot day. Logan looked at a pond full of want-to-be swimmers in the area designated as "the camp pool." He repeatedly assured everyone he was an excellent swimmer. Yet there he stood, in spite of the heat, unwilling to take off his sweatshirt and slide into the cool water right in front of him.He watched two leaders toss campers into the air, and as they fell into the water, the boys squealed with delight, "Do it again!" Another leader slipped alongside Logan and whispered, "You want to join them?" It was more than any youngster could resist. He tore off his sweatshirt and said, "Let's go!" The lure of that kind of love and excitement erased the horror and shame of exposing the dozen or so, round cigarette burn marks covering his back. He joined fellow campers with the familiar cry, "Do it again!"Potholes in the Pavement tells the stories of children like Logan who are thriving because of people willing to volunteer and walk alongside them with humor and grace-- surmounting impossible odds for the sake of all children. One question for most of us may be, "What am I going to do about it?" God's call is clear. You and I are exhorted to go into the world - all of it - and be difference makers. If, after reading stories of hurting children - the good, the not so good and the downright ugly - you decide you would like to roll up your sleeves and jump in, there are forty-four suggestions at the end of the book to help you get started.Marilyn Siden spent more than thirty- ve years walking alongside vulnerable children in both California and southern Oregon. She is married with four children and twelve grandchildren. marilynsiden@gmail.com

  • - Is this well-known promise in II CHRONICLES 7:14 valid for America today?
    av Msw Patsy Boyd McSpadden
    195,-

In today's America, the church seems to have lost its footing and its influence. We see our leaders lie, cheat, steal, and desecrate this country. We watch as men and women are sexualized to entertain and advertise. Crime is pervasive in our streets and even our schools. Our country needs God's healing now more than ever, but are Americans justified in expecting God to heal this country based on a promise made to Solomon for Israel thousands of years ago? What is the relevance of II Chronicles 7:14 for us today? Can we extrapolate or "transfer" that promise to America? In this commanding workbook, Patsy McSpadden mines the Scripture to nurture a life-changing relationship with God. In simple, direct language accessible to everyone, this interactive workbook includes thoughtful questions, profound analyses, and appropriate places for reflection that will encourage a deeper and more meaningful bond with God and His Word. Through Patsy McSpadden's touching discussion of God's message to His people, she emphasizes the humility and prayer needed to cultivate an America that walks on His path. To rebuild our country as stronger and more secure, we first need God to heal us according to His Word. But...can we count on God to heal America based on His promise in II Chronicles? Find your own response to this question in this stimulating and challenging guide. Patsy and her husband, Ralph, live on the family farm in central Texas. They have two children and seven grandchildren. Patsy received her bachelor's degree from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor and her masters from the University of Texas in Austin. She worked as a social worker before founding "In The Garden," a prayer retreat home for Christian women in Blooming Grove, Texas. For more information, see In The Garden LLC on facebook. • av Jim Lambert-Oswald
    249

A young boy quickly finds out the gritty reality of what it means to grow up, which includes witnessing death, deferring dreams and evolving relationships. A charming picture is painted of a small Louisiana town and the characters that live there. Each character has his or her own unique personality, complete with their own quirks, gestures and speaking style. Their authentic interactions move the story forward with an honest and candid look at Billy's realistic experiences complete with the awkward and sometimes embarrassing moments of growing up. The conversations between Billy and his family, as well as the arguments and revelations he overhears, create an uncomfortable tension for the reader that is the result of talented and boundary-pushing writing. Jim Lambert-Oswald was born and raised in the Bronx. He married his southern belle wife in 1978 and moved his family to Louisiana in 1990. Jim is very proud of his sons who have grown into fine Christian men, and adores his grandchildren who sometimes mistake him for Santa Claus. He has worked in the human services field with individuals with developmental disabilities for over 30 years. Jim took many English/writing classes over 40 years ago when he attended Queens College and he always wanted to write a novel, but marriage and family came first. To pass the time during his 150 mile daily commute, he dictated Heaven Is Just Above The Ceiling Fan to a small tape recorder and later typed and edited it.

  • - Is He Seated on the Throne of Your Heart
    av John T Staples
    245

This book describes the mystery of the Glorious Gospel of light illuminated in Old Testament truths. It is lled with types, shadows, patterns and numbers that reveal Jerusalem, which is above to the believer. That heavenly city speaks of the blood bought church, the redeemed. She is presented blameless by faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. A study of the Feasts of Jehovah reveals the blueprint of redemption in Christ freely given in these seven divine appointments set by God. The book also gives a detailed analysis of the Tabernacle in the Wilderness. It describes the spiritual order of God's house. The house, a believer's spirit, soul and body was the original dwelling place of God. The Five Great Offerings in the Torah reveal details of the Majesty and Glory of God. He alone has immortality and dwells in a light that no man can approach. Such dignity has been protected by God through the ages. However, by his in nite mercy and grace he has destroyed all that kept us separated from him in the sacri ce of his son on an old rugged cross. A revelation of the death, burial and resurrection of JESUS to our spirit by the Holy Spirit covers our nakedness. It clothes us with a garment of Beauty and Glory as we feast on the scripture found in the Torah. These truths are a plumb line, perfect and complete. They contain the patterns, shadows and forms that describe the spiritual protocol and order of entering the presence of a Holy God. Measure your inheritance with the saints in light and soak in the anointing that is upon the enriched Word of God. To God be the Glory forever.

  • - God's Way: An Adoptive Mother's Reflections
    av Donna Stenger Brokaw
    255,-

Life changes when we least expect it. Sometimes bad is not as bad as we expect and good is far better. That's what this journey story is about. It has everything to do with dreams and far-fetched ideas and stories. It is about finding unexpected life in a world that seems to have gone wrong. What happens when, one day a fifty-year-old woman with failing health believes she hears God tell her to adopt a child? Then what if, after deciding not to tell her husband, that same night her husband tells her that he has heard from God too, about the same thing? I am that fifty-year-old woman. After deciding that this was more than coincidence, my husband and I began a journey no one in our family will ever forget. Against the odds, miracle after miracle eventually led us to adopt not one but two little girls from China. The journey continued when we got back home. We weren't the only ones that God had been talking to!

Every action, whether positive or negative, starts with a decision. Decisions can either make you or break you. There are individuals who have never recovered from the effects of the negative choices they have made. It is therefore very important that we live close to God and seek Him as we make decisions. This book is written for those of us who have made negative choices and are trying to recover from the effects of them; those of us that are suffering from the consequences of negative choices that were made by others, that in some shape or form affected our lives. It seeks to help guide us in the importance of seeking God and hearing from Him as we go through the decision making process. The author relays these through a series of personal experiences prior to, and throughout the years of her walk with God. Even after we have made mistakes or suffered mishaps, it takes a decision to trust God to use our mistakes or misfortunes and work them together for our good. If we allow Him, the God of second chances will use our mistakes and negative decisions to refine us and advance us in our purpose. However, it all starts with a decision. We have to decide to trust Him, to seek Him, have faith in Him and to lay all our pain, our struggles, our shortcomings, mistakes and negative decisions at the foot of the Cross. It's a decision you will never regret.Shondel Andrea Jackson is a believer in Christ who has walked with God for almost twenty-two years. She is a registered nurse who works in management. She is a professor of nursing and the president and founder of Battered Women and Challenged Teens Ministries (BWCT). She is an active member of Nassau Tabernacle of Praise in Elmont, New York. av David Beale
    375,-

In his Baptist History in England and America, David Beale illuminates numerous topics, including Baptist origins, their search for the ancient manner of immersion, and even the way they acquired the name Baptist. His book annotates key beliefs and practices in Baptist confessions of faith. Multiple chapters describe persecutions Baptists suffered, and contributions they made toward religious freedom and liberty of conscience. Striking a balance between brief and exhaustive, the author aims to inspire and to encourage, as well as to inform, in a precise and accurate manner. He provides in-depth coverage of numerous topics never mentioned in average surveys. Beale refutes the oft-repeated charge that key Baptist leaders were once Seekers, Levellers, Ranters, and Fifth Monarchists. The book is unique in the extent of its usage of local church records and numerous manuscripts in libraries at home and abroad. David Beale taught Baptist History (college and seminary) twice a year for thirty years at Bob Jones University and Seminary. Currently residing in Simpsonville, SC, he is active in his local church and dedicates his time to writing, speaking in churches, and conducting academic modules and seminars.

But by the Grace of God... A relationship with the Lord is one that helps navigate through life's trials, bring comfort after a loved one's passing and staying focused on living for Christ to prepare for the upcoming Rapture. Author Betsy Audibert seeks to capture what a relationship with God and salvation through Jesus is all about in her new collection of Christian poetry, But by the Grace of God... To begin this description of living for Christ, Betsy starts straight from the ultimate source, the Bible, in the book's first poem, The Book. The poem shares the purpose of God's parables to mankind, while also inspiring the hope of what being a Christian provides us in faith, wisdom and love. Several poems also highlight the changing seasons of our world: from the excitement to be had during the summertime to the blossoming plants of spring to the quiet reflection that comes while indoors during the wintertime. Each poem magnifies the author's strong relationship with Jesus, depicting what salvation is for a person new to faith and the abundance of God's blessings to emerge as one releases his/her life into the hands of the Father. Heartwarming poems are also given in recognition of mothers and fathers, including one that Betsy wrote in celebration of her mother's eightieth birthday. The overall feelings within But by the Grace of God... are those of admiration and awareness of the Father's love for every person who seeks Him in faith. Betsy embodies through her poetry the belief that strengthening our spiritual connections with the Lord can strengthen our witness of Him to the unbelieving everywhere. When we realize that we have been saved by the grace of God, and it is not of our works but Jesus', then we are more equipped to share this knowledge with others before we return to our heavenly home.

Married at fifteen and a young mother at sixteen wasn't the life that I.M. Redeemed had imagined. She never thought she would endure years of abuse from an angry and controlling husband. Her autobiography, Eve Got a Bad Rap, exposes deception. She addresses a variety of women's issues, but her story also uproots the lies that live at the bottom of all of mankind's struggles. If there is a lack, there is a lie. Her story began with a life of poverty, but she experienced the Lord as a small child regardless. The loving acceptance from God kept her moving forward. Meanwhile, a force appeared to steal and destroy. After a bewildering meeting with a deceptive musician, she was led into a violent first marriage. She escaped death with their toddler son in tow! Twists and turns continued followed by provision, a new spiritual footing, a career, more children, a loving new husband and a ministry. This is a journey of despair to delight, sad to funny, rags to riches and loneliness to love. Fulfilled, she now lives freely and better equipped to discern truth from lies. Her real-life examples and practical instructions serve as an outcry for every woman to awaken and discover her true identity. Any person who is willing to recognize their God-given potential has the power, through our redeemer, to change and create a ripple effect. Ephesians 1:19.

This book's main focus is regarding slavery. Although there are many books that are written about slavery, and I have heard some people express that they don't want to hear anything about that subject. The author of this book feels that there are still some that needs to read this book, as well as other material and books about this subject. Especially the younger generations. Some people think that Slavery ended under President Abraham Lincoln. After Lincoln, there was a new form of slavery. Some slavery ended about 55 years ago, but there are new forms of slavery going on in this country. It is done in a different way. There are no jobs for black males. The correctional institutions are full of young males. Blacks are slaves to drugs and alcohol. When are black people going to wake up and think "I have been a slave long enough"? -------- These words are from the Author.

"A Father's Love" is the greatest love story of all time. It has been the greatest joy of my life to come to know and love our Heavenly Father who first loved me. I want my children and grandchildren, whom I dearly love, to know and experience The Father's great love for themselves. This book evolved from my efforts to communicate with my family in this generation's most preferred method of conveying information - a text! A simple devotional text everything morning reminding them just how much The Father loves them. My prayer for my family is that they would be able to see past what the world has to offer and be able to comprehend the width, height, and depth of The Father's love. My sincere hope is that all who read these pages will discover just how great The Father's love is, and respond in the only way we are able - to accept His Son, Jesus Christ as our Savior and love Him in return with all our hearts, mind, soul, and strength.

Do you happen to know someone who doesn't even have a basic understanding of who God truly is, much less what His Word says? The transformation of our country from a predominately Christian society to a more secular society has been quite dramatic. As a society we continue to raise far too many Biblically illiterate children. My purpose with this book is twofold; first I pray to give a greater insight into God and His word from the very beginning to the end of time. Not just for those having no knowledge of God, but also for those Christians who yearn for a greater understanding of their Heavenly Father. Second, I pray this book will get into the hands of those that miss out on the soon coming rapture of the Church to be left behind to endure the Seven Year Tribulation period. To help those people understand what has happened and will soon take place and give specific ways according to the Bible in which a person can be saved during that terrible period. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-align: justify; font: 11.0px 'Myriad Pro Semibold'} span.s1 {font: 11.0px 'Myriad Pro'} About the author: He has lived practically his entire life in the state of Georgia, primarily residing in the Atlanta metropolitan area. True to God's Word he came back to the Lord many years later to become a Born Again Christian in the late 1990's: "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22: 6}. Given the gift of prophesy as a child, he is an Ordained Deacon and Sunday School Teacher within the Baptist Church he attends.
