    179,-

In The Gift, Lila Ellexson Senter reflects on Christmases past and takes us along for the journey. Throughout time, she and her friends and family have discovered the joy of "word gifts" -collections of quotations, original poetry, and stories that have amplified the meaning of Christmas for both the gift giver and recipient. This book represents some of the most meaningful word gifts they have exchanged over the years. The words, so carefully chosen, reflect a strong faith, and the beautiful artwork that accompanies each word gift amplifies the message. Reading The Gift is truly a gift to yourself. Throughout the year, pick up this book and let it remind you of the importance of love, family, and faith. And during the holidays, consider wrapping it up for a friend, along with a word gift of your own, so they, too, can reconnect with the true meaning of Christmas. Lila Ellexson Senter is a retired social worker living in Abilene, Texas. She and her husband Bill, with whom she raised three children, enjoy traveling, reading, and volunteering in their community. The Gift was written as a way to promote and support the work of Abilene Hope Haven, a local shelter in the Senters' hometown.

This book addresses what in this author's opinion is the most offensive aspect of Christianity both to other Christians and to the world looking in - namely judgmental Christians. And the meddlesome, annoying Christians who do this act as if Romans 14 has been struck from the Bible like someone's just line-item vetoed that chapter out of the Bible. If they had read it or would read it, they'd keep their mouths shut and mind their own business. However, it is quite often true that the worst and most obstinate such Christians, are really not Christians at all. Jesus himself says these "Christians" will find themselves quite surprised on Judgement Day. So my hope for this book is you, the reader, will not just recognize this is true, but be able to distinguish who such people are in your own life, and recognize they do not represent Jesus or what Christianity should look and feel like at the hands of real Christians who evidently love Jesus by virtue of what they do and say. The phony or fake, SPC (self-proclaimed Christians) who I refer to as "Christians" in the title and throughout the book, do damage to the cause of Christ by alienating both people in the church and without. And so, my final hope in writing this book is to those who have been hurt, and those who will be hurt by those claiming to be a Christians, is you will think back to the pages herein and realize how this person who hurt you may not be a Christian at all, and you'll refuse to let that be your reason for not personally asking Jesus to pour out His love on you. Contents Overview: False prophets; Fake Christians - a.k.a. "Christians" or SPCs - Self-proclaimed Christians; Phony Christians; Adiaphora; Judgmental Christians; The Book of Romans chapter 14; The Book of Matthew; Judgement Day; Christian Character Case StudiesWilliam Spier was born and raised in Berkeley, CA and at the age of sixteen, through an invitation by his dad's barber, started attending church in El Cerrito, CA where he soon discovered no one goes to Heaven just because they do more good things than bad, so he asked Jesus into his heart. Learning that our sins have to be completely taken away, which Jesus has already done, and all we have to do is accept, he did. Twenty years later in the middle of a burgeoning career as an engineering designer, William felt led to get into the ministry full time and so he went back to school, starting seminary outside of Philadelphia, PA, where in 2006 he earned a Masters of Divinity degree. His plan was to start a church ministry or become a missionary or evangelist, but no matter how he tried getting into a formal ministry, those doors just kept closing while the industry kept opening. So finally he followed what he felt was the Lord calling him to take his ministry to the industry, and he has quietly but effectively reached many coworkers and professional acquaintances for the Lord for over ten years now.

A powerful message lies within the positioning of Heaven''s door throughout the Biblical timeline of events. Quietly hidden and tucked away, it''s no wonder this valuable information has been overlooked for so long, that is until now. The undeniable truth regarding the rapture of the Church is revealed within the book of REVELATION when viewed from Heaven''s threshold. This is an open and shut case, and reveals more than expected. There''s a reason the book of REVELATION states Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophesy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near. (Rev. 1:3 NIV). Though deemed the most intimidating book of the Bible by many, it''s actually the most encouraging book of all, if we are careful to hear its blessing.

  • av Bishop Evangelist Carl J Mimms III
    175,-

Is truth dead or still alive? The mindset toward truth, especially the truths found within God''s Word, has changed dramatically over the last century; and, unfortunately, has encouraged a drift from biblical principles. Pastor and author Carl Mimms has witnessed firsthand the rejection of God''s Word to accept truths that rely on people''s abilities and chance. It saddens him to see a once Christian nation, as America used to be, succumbing to the demands of political correctness and liberal notions. With this in mind, he presents readers with his new, nonfiction book, Feed My Spirit The Truth, to demonstrate how unchanging, lasting and undeniable God''s truths in the Bible is against supposed truths in the world today. Carl centers many of his insights on what he has experienced of people''s questions, and sometimes rejections, toward truths found in the Bible. Truth, he conveys in the book''s second chapter, is necessary because it not only shows where your eternal destination after death will be, but it also reveals one''s purpose and provides solid knowledge to hold onto when all other "truths" fail.He also introduces the belief that Satan''s hatred of the Word of God has caused him to use malicious, though baseless, tactics to confuse people into thinking they don''t need the blood of Jesus to be freed from sin. This leads, as Carl states, to bondage to sin that may not be removed until it is too late. The only hope lies in the truth that Jesus can save a person and be his/her guiding force to combat Satan and his deceptions. The truth is that God created us all with a purpose in His plan; the purpose being to share with others about whom Jesus is to us before He makes His final return to earth.

Attitude Reflecting Character is a 40-day devotional based on a true God and encouraged by a true testimony.  This 40-day devotional is to help willing individuals get closer to God and to help reshape unconstructive thinking. After signing a plea bargain for reckless manslaughter as a troubled teen, Ricky Lopez discovered that when childhood cuteness fades away, character is left to deal with. Having been given a second chance in life, Ricky learned how to character build through Gods Word while in prison. Today as a father, husband and author, Ricky now reminds people what it`s like to be set free and made right with God. In Ricky''s words, "Jailhouse religion didn''t save me, alcohol couldn''t help me and neither could fake friends rescue me." In acknowledgement of Gods redemption and through the lens of the Bible, this short devotional book will not only help to encourage others but will also assist those in recovery groups, promote crime prevention and help to redirect troubled teens through the forever working power of the gospel. Today in a generation that continues to grow cold and unloving, this book speaks about a real God and gospel that works. From Ricky''s firsthand experience as a troubled teen, to an ex-felon, to a youth director and now as a licensed minister, this short devotional book is a must read for you and your loved ones.

I was born and raised on the Island of St Vincent and the Grenadines. I grew up with My grandparents and was taught about the bible from a very young age. I was told the importance of becoming a Christian, what it's like to trust  in God and believe that he will provide for me. I went through some hard times in life but nevertheless, God was always by my side. I may not have acknowledge his presence all the time but I knew deep within me that he was there, even though I couldn't see nor touch his physical body. I came to the United States in 2010 to pursue a higher education but things got a little bit harder than I thought. That was when I've realized that I need God now more than ever. I started to pray more and my relationship with him grew stronger. I may not be where I would like to be at this moment but I know that the plans God has for me are far more better than those I have for myself.

  • av Dr Barbara R Castro
    179,-

It was a debate that Dr. Barbara Castro knew she would eventually face as a biology teacher: Creationism vs. Evolution. Evolution in public schools had become commonplace curriculum when Barbara first began teaching, but having skipping the lesson with students for years, she decided it was time for individual research on evidence of Evolution in comparison with her Bible-led knowledge. The result is her new book, Creationism vs. Evolution, which is a helpful guide for Christian parents'' education on teaching children evolution and God. Her discussion begins with a study of the Big Bang Theory, in contrast to the Bible''s Genesis as creation of Earth: expanding there to the basic laws of thermodynamics, DNA and heredity, and findings from Gregor Mendel and genetics. The ultimate discussion on Charles Darwin and his belief in transmutation species is Barbara''s chief reasoning that God created the Earth and mankind, thus how life began.

God dwells in the supernatural! He saves unbelievers by grace and calls them to ministry, and God wants His people to live an extraordinary life of phenomenal acts of servanthood through an uncompromising and supernatural mindset. God desires Christians to think and behave like Christians all the time. Phil Ayers explores the lives of the apostles of Jesus Christ. Each of the apostles were led by Jesus Christ out of the "rut of mediocre" into a life altering and world challenging commitment to serve, even unto death for the Way! • - The Promises of Healing, Wholeness, and Favor
    av Anita Lantz
    255,-

We all need the pain to go away, those hurtful memories of the past to disappear, or even just once, to have no regrets at the end of the day.God wants to heal our physical bodies, deliver us from nagging feelings of guilt, help us overcome poor self-esteem or other negative emotions, and He wants to shower us with blessings. Our Father doesn''t just want to get us to heaven. He wants to help us enjoy this life on the way. The Empowered Christian Woman series was born out of a dream about Christian women who have been faithful churchgoers for many years, but did not yet know they were empowered by God to live an extraordinary life. I had compassion for them because I was once one of them, dependent solely on pastoral teaching and guidance, without studying the Bible for myself. This series began with its first book of Bible truth about the promise of new life, which is the "key" that opens all the doors to the rest of God''s promises. The second book of Bible truth is about the promise of power, and how to allow the Holy Spirit to work in our lives and guide us into all truth. In this third book, we explore Bible truth about the promises of healing, wholeness, and favor, with evidence revealed in the stories of women who have experienced miracles, physical and emotional healings, and deliverance from rejection, insecurity, fear, anxiety, depression and other debilitating emotions as well as enjoying God''s favor. There is no reason why you, too, shouldn''t be experiencing these supernatural works of God and living the extraordinary, empowered life He has for you.Anita Lantz has been a public speaker for 30-plus years, giving hope and encouragement to multitudes of women. She resides in Columbus, Ohio.

" Are you willing to walk on the water with Jesus". So many of the personal reflections shared by Carmen reminded me about the intimacy and love our Savior gives us if we only believe.  Carmen''s personal reflections allowed me as the reader to see faith in action.  Each chapter had insightful question for me to ask myself as well as prayers of faith for me to ponder.  Seeing God move in his majesty on each page of the book allowed my own faith to arise. I recommend this beautiful book to anyone who has ears to hear how wonderful our God is."

Many have said God spared them from the wrong path, but author Shateka Legette can truthfully state that God intervened several times throughout her life. In her new autobiography, "If I Told It, You Couldn't Hold It," Shateka reflects on the various blessings and trials where God was apparent in her life. Growing up in a small town, Shateka endured poverty with her family, even living in a barn after surviving a fire in their home. Her parents' marriage was quite volatile, leading to divorce, and Shateka struggled against tricks of the devil during much of her adolescence. Her issues with fornication caused her to backslide in faith until God intervened and guided her to a more prosperous path. Shateka hopes readers see, as she recounts school stories, attending FMU and family tragedies and triumphs, how God never left and was always there for comfort and lighting her way forward

The subtitle I chose for this book is "How Listening to God Can Change Your Life." Listening to God has been the story of my life. The Bible has changed my life. Over the course of my seventy-seven years, I have encountered many circumstances and conditions that presented themselves as mission impossible. However, I have discovered that nothing is impossible when God is the source of all of your needs. My favorite book from an early age has been the Bible. I love and cherish the Bible. It has been my go-to source for truth, knowledge, understanding, and instruction in matters of life and death. I am a student of the Bible. It has been the most influential book in my life. During times when life is tough, we need a source that will bring stability to our lives. I have found the Bible to be my guide and my tutor to get me through whatever I encounter on my earthly journey.  It''s not my words that will change your life. Preferably, it is the Word of God that will change your life. My goal is to encourage you to be a regular reader of the Bible. I pray that the thirty-one topics I write about in this book will be spiritual food to nourish you on the inside and that it will result in your spiritual growth. The following verse has been an inspiration and encouragement for me in my walk with the Lord.  Isaiah 55:11 (KJV) So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Do you want to "walk the walk" or just "talk the talk"? The Christian experience can be a little more challenging when you "walk the walk". Seventy Times 7 goes a long way on the "road less travelled" to give the reader a special way to solve a dilemma encountered on the road that takes you through life. Experience the "walk" with the author and have a surprise waiting for you each time you turn a page.ACKNOWLEDGMENTThis book came into my hands at a time of great trial. It gave me a simple explanation of how God works through me and how I should take the knowledge of his Word to influence my decisions. With simplicity and directness, the book opened my eyes and made me think about the path God wants me to take. I will take the chains that bind me and lay them on the cross. Thank you, Pat, my dear friend for reminding me that God is love. Thank you for sharing your story to give an example of how God shows us mercy, grace, and above all, forgiveness with his love. Our brains are extraordinary organs. They function best when they''re nourished with love, healthy relationships, honesty and security. Children''s brains that are exposed to repeated cruelty are instead shaped by shame, confusion, judgment, lies, and fear. This is important because our brains are where our thoughts originate and assemble. Our thoughts influence our emotions, decisions and behavior. God knew me in my Mother''s womb. He knew I would have a turbulent childhood and my brain would be affected. He knew that because of it, I would be disillusioned with Him. He knew I would walk backward in the dark before I walked forward in the light. He knew He would eventually help me, save me, give me back my dignity, and bring me to victory. He gave me a penname and together, we''ve written about my journey. No person can love us like God does. He is love. He is also light. We are His children and we are meant to live in love and walk in light.
