God has provided insight to share my story, my family's story as a way to shed light on the see no evil, hear no evil mentality in homes. When I began writing, over forty years ago, I focused on the heart. Although I did not fully comprehend what I was going to discover, the more my mind focused on the heart the more I realized why the Lord Almighty placed it in the center of all human and spiritual activity. Each human being learns early in life that their ongoing existence depends on and is sustained by their beating heart. Although we can't directly visualize our hearts, we know that it beats inside our chest and continues to repeat its perpetual beat without our direct assistance. This miracle of creation stimulated my curiosity and led me to explore in greater depth the majesty of the heart, which transcends into our spiritual world. Our temporal bodies can be viewed as shells covering and protecting our spiritual inner beings. Being temporary, God has provided numerous gifts or tools to aid us in our self-discovery process. Our main assignment or purpose in life's human form is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. It is my hope and my prayer that the thoughts conveyed in my poems will be an aid to expand understanding by encouraging a strong desire to seek and to claim Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and to spread the truth to others in your sphere of influence.

She attended Frankfield High School and Clarendon College. After her high school graduation in 1975, she began her career as a nurse. In 1985 she shifted her career to start her own business which is still being operated today. She did this while walking in her divine calling as a pastor at Rehoboth Outreach Center located in Miami. Yvonne was a victim of domestic violence which results in the birth of her organization Women Empowering Women (W.E. Women) which advocates for women and families who are victims of domestic violence. As a result of her horrible experience, she was inspired to write her second book titled 'A Survivor's Story', her first book is titled 'Spiritual Abuse.' She is a past student of Trinity International University (Miramar, Florida). In 2015 she graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor's degree in Christian Ministry; and in 2017 she received her Master's degree in Theology. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Education for Community Care and Counseling: Marriage and Family at Liberty University which is located in Virginia. Yvonne is passionate about helping others, and she will use her experiences (good and bad) and her knowledge to help as many as she is able to. Lauren Lynn Merryfield was born totally blind due to glaucoma. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in Integrated Studies from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Some years later, she received her Master's in Social Work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Lauren was married for the first time, with a daughter, Lynden. She held several jobs through the years: elevator operator at the State Capitol; reservation agent at Marriott World-Wide reservation center, earning a Rookie of the Year award; and Travis Air Force Base as a phone operator. Lauren remarried but her husband passed on after ten years. She recently retired and this is her third book. The first two were: "There's more than one way to love a cat: my kitty journal in haiku" and "there's more than one way to be okay: a blind woman's PURRspective on life." The latter is still available at Audible. Lauren has written for the publications of the National Federation of the Blind. She has had pieces appear in several anthologies, and is a member of the Cat Writers' Association and the National Federation of the Blind. Lauren's relationship with Jesus suffered in a nonbiblical New Age setting. Jesus was just a man; a great teacher. The Bible was just a good story to learn from. "Spirit salvation" is granted to all believers. When a person trusts in Jesus Christ as their savior, they become a believer and are guaranteed that they will enter Heaven. Since only believers appear at the Judgment Seat of Christ, their "spirit salvation" must have already been secured. Instead, believers will be judged solely on their obedience to the direct leading of the Holy Spirit, which is how "soul salvation" is determined.The question Jesus will ask is: "Did your "good works" happen under the direction of the Holy Spirit, or were they a result of "soulish" desires - directed by your mind, will, and emotions, apart from the Spirit?"The problem every believer faces is how to secure the salvation of their own soul! Synetra Leaphart was born Synetra Evette Howard on July 14, 1965. She is an Atlanta native, reared with birth parents, the late Bishop John D. Howard and Missionary Johnnie Lee Howard, along with 12 other biological siblings.She co-labored with her husband to found New Hope Christian Ministries in July 2001. The Lord has inspired her to develop several ministries within New Hope Cathedral, such as: My Sister My Keeper Women''s Ministry, Daughters of Divine Destiny Young Ladies Mentoring Ministry, New Members Services, Café New Hope, NH Grief Ministry, and the community Good News Club. As a result of her love for God''s children, she was inspired to write Scent of Heaven, a motivational book which gives the reader daily spiritual vitamins to encourage the soul. She dedicates the book to the late matriarchs of her life, mother Johnnie Lee Howard, Mother in love, Lois Leaphart, grandmother Ma Pat (Elsie Jackson) and sister, Phyllis Ann Johnson as well as her father, the late Bishop John D. Howard, who instilled in her spiritual foundations, values and commitment. They all played a major role in aiding her to become the woman she is today. They are the wind beneath her wings...Synetra retired with 28 years of service in October 2010 from Ga Department of Human Resources. She walks fervently beside her husband, assisting him in all his endeavors. She is a constant source of great strength, love and empowerment to others. Her Godly and positive influence has brought many to Christ. She exemplifies the gift of wisdom and knowledge in both the body of Christ as well as the community.
