  • av Naomi N Modeste
    249

Naomi Modeste was born in Tobago, one of the twin islands of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, in the West Indies. She grew up in a humble environment, enjoyed her family, attended Christian schools, and was deeply influenced by her religious community. She was destined for a life of significance way beyond her immediate geographical environment. Her education and training began at home at a young age as she was homeschooled until age eight when she entered elementary school. Although she loved the village where she grew up, she desired change that could only be achieved outside of her comfort zone and attended college in Trinidad, and Lincoln, Nebraska, where she completed a BS degree. She continued to aspire for the highest in education, in the United States, with an MPH and a DrPH in Public Health from Loma Linda University, in Southern California, but always returned to serve her country after major educational achievements. After serving several years in the Caribbean and Latin America in a variety of roles, she joined the academic community of Loma Linda University in 1991 and worked there for twenty-five years, serving as professor, department chair, program director, researcher, and author, before retiring in 2016. She models Christian values, has a heart for people, is a gracious host, and embraces life. She believes that education is a way out of poverty and was instrumental in using her own funds to educate young men and women, whether through elementary, high school, college or university, and some without their knowledge. Her life is an inspiration to all.

In this fourth volume of Behind the Curtain, author Marc LeVitre writes his own version of That''s Entertainment IV. The films he covers here are sometimes as well known as many in previous volumes, but like the movie clip fest, some are little known, buried in a vault. However, through these films, such as those in That''s Entertainment, he, narrating like Gene Kelly, reveals important facets. While the movie clips explore Judy and Mickey barn raisers, Tracy and Hepburn repartee, and Esther Williams swimming extravaganzas, the author dives into three of his own special interests. He explores modern Disney films, a series of emotion-eliciting films, and more sports films, all relevant in some way to his life. (They include Frozen, My Best Friend''s Wedding, and Trouble with the Curve.) The unique feature of this book is quoting Scripture far more frequently in confirmation of the films'' messages, making it possible for the readers not to need their Bibles by their side. By doing so, LeVitre covers fewer films than previously ("only" thirty), but the intention is that the reviews will be more comprehensive and more potent, demonstrating and glorifying God''s power "behind the curtain."Since the beginning, LeVitre, a pastor''s son, has been looking for the moral of the story, and by doing so, has been entertained, but more importantly, has been enlightened. He has been writing the Behind the Curtain series since 2011. LeVitre has been proud to call New Hampshire home since 1968 and incorporates film references to New Hampshire and its famous citizens whenever possible.

Is friendship lost? When did it get lost? Where did it go? The Lost Art of Friendship is a book about one person''s experience in finding, losing, keeping and cherishing true friendship. There are also stories taken from the Bible that illuminate principals of true, abiding friendship. Do you have the friendships you desire? Are you the friend you want to be? Friendship has gotten lost in the current culture of technology. It is easier to text than to develop an in-person, personal relationship. Even though technology is vital to communication, it should not replace developing relationships in personal contact. Each chapter tells a story, provides a basic principle of friendship, and ends with various points for the reader to ponder as they consider their own friendship characteristics and development. The reader is challenged to examine themselves and encouraged to make positive changes. Patricia Hull is a licensed Marriage, Family and Child Therapist. She has a long career working in child welfare, private practice and mental health facilities in Southern California. Patricia has developed training programs for foster parents. She has taught Bible Studies and has led praise and worship teams. Patricia has written Christian songs. Patricia is married and has two married adult children along with one grand-dog. Her hobbies are reading, writing, singing, walks on the beach, and travel. Her passion is to help people find their strengths and to assist them to develop those strengths.

No other book in the Bible has caused more consternation and fear than the Book of Revelation. Every major earthquake, volcanic eruption, pestilences, famines, and most of all wars raises the idea that this Earth will soon be no more. As these calamities hit the news, Revelation is soon cited and Christians everywhere speak once again of Earth''s impending doom. What if there is another explanation of the Book of Revelation that presents something different, something that says all or most of the contents in Revelation have been fulfilled? What if a small piece of a larger puzzle, once placed correctly into the overall picture brings everything together in an easy-to-understand way?The Revelation of Revelation attempts to do just that. Of the many mysterious creatures found in Revelation, my goal is to open your eyes to another view of this wonderful Bible book. The infamous "Mark of the Beast" may just have a sensible answer that removes all hype and fear. These views are not my own but a journey of hunger and thirst for answers letting scripture interpret scripture. This is a cumulation of several years of study. It''s my pleasure to present to you Revelation of Revelation.

    175,-

David Billeiter is an ordained Southern Baptist minister and was a patrol sergeant with the Kerr County Sheriff's Office in May of 2001. Before entering law enforcement, he served as a pastor for about twenty years. He is now pastor of New Hope Fellowship in Ingram, Texas. On May 4, 2001, David, in his capacity as a patrol sergeant, received a message from God informing him that he would very soon encounter a desperate serial kidnapper. Truly, the events that unfolded following that message were nothing short of a miracle. A dangerous predator was on the loose, stalking and abducting young girls. He raped and tortured his victims for days before releasing them, and authorities knew it would only be a matter of time until one of his victims ended up dead. Law enforcement agencies desperately wanted to find and apprehend this monster - a man they were now calling the IH-10 Predator. Responding to the message he had received, Billeiter took action that day that prevented the IH-10 Predator from claiming another victim. Now, in this personal narrative and testimony, he recalls his experiences of that time, sharing events that reveal the hand of God in the takedown of an evil man and the rescue of a ten-year-old girl.

In 1982 at 5 years old my love for God was discovered by my loving mother, our neighbors in the neighborhood where I grew up which earned me a religious name "Pastor". I grew up without a childhood. I began the Kingdom business of our Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. In 1997, I lost my father & a few years later I lost my best friend who was my biological mother. The death of my parents exposed me to danger and in my search to find solace I fell out of God''s grace. I wandered in sin for too long until 2016 when I had my Son Sir-Henry Jr. My Son Sir-Henry Jr. was born at 24 weeks-5 days old with a medical condition which medically has no solution, my son''s health condition rekindled the fire of the Holy Ghost in me. I had this righteous anger in me knowing very well that God is still in the business of doing good. Sometimes, God uses our life challenges to draw us closer to Him in other for Him to speak to us. God wanted to speak to Moses, realizing that Moses was far from His presence He drew Moses closer by showing him the burning bush, the bush was on fire but the bush was not consumed by the fire which attracted the attention of Moses. God used my son''s medical condition to draw me closer. Today, I am an Evangelist, an author & Speaker winning souls for Christ. No matter how dark your sin is, the blood of Jesus will wash it to be whiter than snow.I am happily married to a woman who is next to God in my heart, Stephanie (MD) Blessed with 2 children AJ (10) & Sir-Henry Jr. (19 months)

We will one day trade in our tent for a building not made by hands.Think about the difference between a tent and a building. Tents are temporary and flimsy, easily torn, and meant to be replaced. A building is strong, built on a foundation, and not easily moved. Someday, we will give up our tent and replace it with a building made by God himself. That one fact tells us something important about death. It is from God. It is not made with hands, it is eternal, and it is heavenly, not earthly. But, thank God, it''s not the last word. If you have a loved one who died in Christ, you will see them again. I want you to know that God is not finished. Death will not have the last word, for Jesus has conquered the grave. Because he rose we, too, shall rise. From faith, we take courage to live for Christ with reckless abandon, because death is not the end of our story. So, shine your light and let the whole world see we have a risen King.

This book presents evidence for the fact that during Day 4 of Creation Week when God created the Light that ruled the Night, He did not create a moon, but a binary of Jupiter and Saturn, that this binary resulted in Saturn exploding (going nova) leading to a variety of events such as the Global Flood, creating various planets, moons and comets in our solar system and set the stage for the Exodus that occurred several centuries later. The book also gives evidence as to where the Ark landed (not on Great Ararat but on Mt. Cudi - one of the other Ararat mountains). It also gives the evidence as to where the future Temple will be located on the Temple Mount. Background: a graduate of Penn State University, Magna cum Laud, Phi Beta Kappa, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, and a graduate of Johns Hopkins School of International Medicine, a missionary to Ethiopia, and a pediatrician in the United States before retiring.

We are all people of story. Our own stories are as individual as we are. We are also people of faith. Even if we don''t attend a church, or don''t believe in the existence of God, we all hold some belief in what life is all about. When Jesus was asked, "What do I need to do to be saved?", He answered in the form of a faith precept: "Love God and love your neighbor." But when He was asked, "But who is my neighbor?", Jesus answered in a story, the beloved story of the "Good Samaritan".My story that I share with you in this little book is at times a little raw. I have strived to avoid skipping over my weaknesses, so that the undeserved grace and mercy that I have received may be clearly seen. As someone once said, stories of restoration and redemption are just one beggar telling another where he found bread. Perhaps my story of escape from darkness and desperation is what you need to hear, or that the faith you already have will grow even stronger. Deacon Bob Skawinski was born in Jersey City in 1938, the youngest of three children. He worked as an engineer, graduate-engineering instructor and manager for AT&T for 36 years, as a high-school instructor and department head for 5 years and has been serving as an ordained Deacon in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for 30 years. His first 14 years of education were in Catholic schools. He holds a B.S.E.E. in electrical engineering and an M.B.A. in business administration. He has been married for 58 years and is the father of three girls and the grandfather of four boys.

I had never heard of a Maremma. The only thing I knew was that we were starting a flock of sheep, and we needed help on the farm. God knew what He was doing. He placed the perfect partner in shepherding in our barn and it has lasted over 30 years. This is the story of Arya, and how she has helped me learn about the Holy Spirit while we shepherd this flock of Border Cheviot sheep. Arya brings a simple joy and gentleness to life, and she brings a smile to my face every day. We''ve shared every emotion together and stood together through difficult times.Arya has an innate wisdom about how to do her job on the farm. She has never been trained-she just knows what to do. She lives in the present and doesn''t worry about yesterday or tomorrow. She has natural instincts that keep the sheep calm and content in their surroundings. She leads them home from the pasture at night. She stands guard all day to guard from timber wolves and coyotes. When we have a sick sheep Arya keeps track of her in the barn. She is dedicated to her job with the sheep and stays with them through any weather conditions; 90 degrees Fahrenheit to 20 degrees below zero. She always stands up to the storms. She''s a comforter. When a ewe loses a lamb, Arya stays nearby and makes sure the sheep stay together for comfort. And she''s comforted me when a family member has died.God loves shepherds. From King David to the birth of Jesus, shepherds hold a special place in the Bible. Jesus Himself is the Good Shepherd.Every day when I look at Arya I''m reminded of the nature of God, and how the Holy Spirit works in my life. That''s why I call Arya the Holy Spirit Shepherd Dog.Come along on a trip to our small farm, spend some time in the country and read my stories about Arya and our partnership as shepherds. I''ll guarantee you''ll never look at a farm working dog the same way again. And along the way, maybe she''ll teach you a couple new things about the Holy Spirit.

As she slowly strived to take a better direction in life she finally surrendered to God in 2010 by becoming an Intercessor. In 2015, Yolanda started an all-women's prayer line called Powerful Virtuous Women. Where women can come together and pray for each other and with each other. Three years later, she finally accepted her call by God - to be a minister. With the founding of this awesome group and her new role, Yolanda would like to continue to inspire women all over the world. Yolanda once asked, "Who is She?" You are a beautiful woman who strives to be better even when your soul has been scarred by the greed and darkness you have experienced. Overpowering the cold, harsh past, you look forward to a higher elevation with extreme expectation of blooming into a phenomenal woman. Yolanda truly thanks God for guidance wisdom and favor when she felt all hope was lost. If she could give one piece of advice: "Trust in God above anything else. You and God are WORTH the fight.
