In the seventies, there was a very popular song entitled, “The Second Time around.” I was married at the time to my first wife, and had no reason to believe that the song would ever apply to me or my wife. But in 1977, we were divorced because of “irreconcilable differences.” Suddenly I was in the dating world. What does a 47-year-old father of three know about dating? I had been married for 20 years, and now I’m not.

I was born Earlisteen Mobley on July 2nd, 1945 in the small town of Alma, Georgia. I was raised attended school and graduated in Patterson, Georgia in 1963. As a small child growing up with my Mom and Dad I had three sisters and one brother. My brother is the one who started calling me "Dink" or "Dinkey" because I was so small and of course it stuck. After I graduated, I met my future husband Steve in Offerman, Georgia. We married on September 14, 1973 and have one son we named Stephen. We lived in Jesup, Georgia for about 18 years and moved back to Patterson in 2003 to present. We all attend Patterson Baptist Church where Brother R.C. James is our Pastor. One of my favorite Biblical Scriptures is Acts 17, Verses 28-29. (28.) For In Him We Live, and move and have our being. As certain also of your own Poets have said, for we are also his offspring. (29.) Forasmuch Then We are the Offspring of GOD, we ought not to think that the GODHead is like unto gold, or silver or stone, graven by Art or Man's Device. Twenty-seven years ago my Mother passed away in January 1991. My Mother influenced me in many ways to write poetry, even though she was gone. But, most of all Our Lord Jesus Christ has inspired me to do so. I began composing in February 1991. Ever since then I have rendered all within me to do my best, throughout the generations.
