Baptism by Toilet Water is Jim Winter's bittersweet memoir retracing his difficult childhood and early adult years. Growing up in the sixties with a raging alcoholic for a father, life for Jim, his mother, and four siblings meant years of physical and mental abuse. Born in Fresno, California to an American Father and a British Mother. Raised with two sisters and brother in the San Joaquin Valley of California until we moved to Arizona. After, about three years we moved with our mother to England. Went to an English boarding school. Returned to California for a short time before moving to Florida in 1968. On May 12, 2019 at 12:56 AM God took me on a journey writing some of the different experiences that He has brought me through down on paper. In this book I go through those experiences and give others a look into Chaketa’s world where I freely talk about molestation, anxiety, health issues, doubt, fear, and establishing a relationship with God. When people share their stories at times they focus on the glitz and glamour sides but here in The Divine Destiny of The Comeback Kid I go to the things that were hurtful and shameful and instead of covering them up with a band aid I allowed air to hit them so that true healing could take place and others could see it for themselves that God is good and faithful. So I invite everyone that can and will to join me as I display my life and experiences that only God could have brought me out from.  Chaketa Jenkins was born in Gainesville Florida and raised in Welaka Florida. She married the love of her life Michael in 2001. She has two children Zariah and Michael Jr whom she loves and adores as well as her fur baby Bella Rose. Chaketa enjoys working as a Hospice Nurse, spending time with her young people, shopping, and reading. Chaketa’s quote for her life is “God has great plans for me” and her favorite bible scripture is Jeremiah 29:11. 

Growing up in a house with eight brothers and sisters there was always something brewing in the Otchy household. Nothing could really surprise the family until the day when Tim, one of the Otchy children, announced he was going to be a Catholic Priest! That announcement proved to be the precursor of a series of adventures for Tim’s younger brother Matt with the newly ordained Father Tim Otchy. These escapades led to a special bond which developed between two brothers. Matt was most grateful for having spent this time with his brother and never forgot how witnessing his brother’s love and faith helped to guide him throughout the rest of his life.Whether it was sailing, camping, discovering Las Vegas or trekking through the back country of Nicaragua, life lessons abounded. Though tragedy would appear to be the end game, love, faith and a passion for life would be the legacy selflessly given to a brother.First time author Matthew Otchy is a life-long resident of New Jersey. He has had a successful career as a management professional and consultant focusing on the Retail and Pharmaceutical industries.   He has been active for over 30 years in many Catholic and community organizations including the Knights of Columbus and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation serving as a Council Officer and a member of the Board of Directors. He graduated from Fordham University with B.S. degree in Marketing and earned his MBA from Pace University in New York City.He and his wife Joanne have raised two children and reside in Bergen County, New Jersey.
