I have placed my "pastor's ponderings" in this book as a result of the encouragement of friends and acquaintances. The premise and hope of this devotional book are that it will facilitate a deeper spiritual walk for all who read it. Each devotional was developed by relating everyday objects or activities to our spiritual lives, with the intent of keeping them simple enough so that even a child could understand them. Each devotional encourages the reader to be a better Christian, to attend church more regularly, to study the Bible more, or to grab hold of some other spiritual insight or discipline. It is my desire that this book will be used by the Holy Spirit to enlighten the readers of their spiritual weaknesses in order to be brought closer to God. If this happens, I will consider it a success. For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God's gift. Ephesians 2:8

Why such as book? Because of the fall of man, the present worldview of things, the constantly changing culture and efforts of understanding the times. Because of the need to find hope in a seemingly hopeless world, and the issues surrounding God; it is needful to examine the challenges that believers face, to explore and embrace the strategies that will encourage them to move forward in spite of being in an unwelcoming world! "The world hates them, because they are not of this world" (Jesus Christ). Ben Griffin is the founder, and President of Plumline Leadership LLC. He is currently writing his Dissertation for an Ed. • - A Memoir
    av Anthony Diamandi
    245

Does God exist? If He does, how or where do we fit into the grand scheme of His existence? Can we actually be close and interact with God, be involved in and with His plans? Is this interaction available to all of us, even the destitute, the broken, the addicted, the guilt ridden, the hurting, the poor, the shamed, the rejected, the lost and the forgotten? Is this interaction even available to the dark horses? If you have or had any of these questions, you are not alone. The author of this book set out on a journey in search for answers to these questions. That journey led to an adventure filled with beauty, love, challenges, loyalty, strength, weakness, triumph, tragedy and overcoming. God's word, whether as a command, a blessing, a promise, a judgement, a warning or a prophecy is potent, efficient, intelligent, dynamic, and alive. His word will, at all times achieve its purpose, whether in the life of a nation, a person, or in relation to creation. It will surely achieve its goal according to the incorruptible and inviolate nature of God, because His word is law. • - Exposing the Truth about Osteopathy and its Medical Mysticism
    av Physician Karen Melton
    175,-

I discovered that the spiritual philosophy of Osteopathic Medicine was contrary to my Christian faith... "There is no question as to whether there can be a spiritual element within osteopathic medical care," writes one of the representatives of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). "A core tenet of osteopathic medicine is that: 'The body is a unit; the person is a unit of body, mind, and spirit.'" Finally, there was acknowledgement that osteopathy had its own spirituality. This was a happy moment for me reading those words in November of 2014. There really is no question. There is and can be a spiritual element in osteopathic medical care. I spent two years trying to get the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to understand I could not be one of their members because the philosophy and practice of osteopathy was spiritual. By being a member of the AOA and practicing osteopathic principles, I would be violating my own religious beliefs. It was a wonderful moment when they got it. Now the question was, would they accommodate me and find a way for me to renounce osteopathic religious spiritual thought and keep my allopathic/scientific (traditionally called MD) medical training. The answer was a resounding no! The reason, I later discovered, is that the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME) has wed that spiritual element to my training, license, and all domains of patient care. -- Karen Melton, Physician "This book reveals an insider's view of the world of osteopathic medicine and shines a bright light on aspects of the underlying philosophy that are sure to startle and alarm the reader. This is a must-read for any Christian who seeks healthcare standards that originate in the teachings of the Divine Physician." -- Susan Brinkmann, OCDS

  • - Jesus to the Rescue.
    av Kingsley Nwokoma
    159,-

Each year, there are nearly a million people who commit suicide, with anywhere between ten million to twenty million attempting. About thirty thousand people each year in the United States kill themselves. The most tragic part of these statistics is that suicide is often preceded by serious depression, which is a treatable disorder. It is because of these saddening statistics that author Kingsley Nwokoma seeks to share with those facing thoughts of suicide the amazing grace of God and His Son, Jesus Christ. Through Kingsley's book, Suicide: Jesus to the Rescue, he wants to get you to believe that God loves you and He is willing and able to rescue you from suicidal thoughts when you say yes to Jesus. The Lord's love is abundant and available to everyone; by accepting Jesus, He will love you eternally, and even when you feel alone, He will be with you. Though bringing the Lord into your life will not instantly solve your problems, through His support and love, He can help you overcome feelings of depression and suicidal thoughts. God can help you rise to greatness in Him just as He has done many times in the Bible with others who have faced suicidal thoughts. Jonah and Job--both men were tempted to suicide, but they instead returned to God and followed His guidance to do great acts. Suicide: Jesus to the Rescue can help you find this same power to overcome your suicidal thoughts.

The world is filled with people who have good or even great intentions about the things they would like to do and who they would like to become. But good intentions are never enough to change your life. Overweight people have good intentions about losing weight. Unemployed people have good intentions about getting a job. A cheating husband or wife have good intentions about quitting the affair. Yet for all of these good intentions, these individuals are still where they are; while hoping to get to where they desire to be, all the while wondering how to get out of the rut. The answer is in moving from good intentions to Intentional living. In Joshua Chapter one verse 8, God tells Joshua "If you observe to DO whatsoever I have commanded you, then you shall make your way prosperous and have good success." / DESIRE / DECISION/ DELIBERATE ACTION/ DISCIPLINE.

Pray, Believing may best be summed up in the words of Jesus Christ as recorded by St. Mark 11.24 "Therefore I tell you, whatsoever ye ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours". These words also found in the Gospels of St. Matthew and St. John are also found in the catholic letters of St. John and St. James, and are evidence of its importance to God for its pleasing attributes and to the Christian who seeks that faith which moves mountains. When embraced the Christian prayer is empowered with the awesome, humbling gift of service to God, to one's neighbors, and to one's self. This major theme is developed throughout this small book together with a definition of God's will; when waiting for God is necessary; and the root meaning of such words as "will" and "to wait" in both the Hebrew and Greek Testaments. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-align: justify; font: 14.0px 'Adobe Garamond Pro'}The author has written three previous books. In the Kingdom of Bastille, identity is everything. Established as a utopia for those seeking fulfillment and freedom, the Kingdom of Bastille is a land that legally ascribes three defining characteristics to each citizen, and those legal defining characteristics guide every single decision a citizen makes. Teenagers are encouraged to never attempt to change their defining characteristics. Instead, they are told to love themselves by embracing their characteristics. The goal is to give citizens the freedom to love themselves. But for Victoria Dyson, the system hasn't seemed to work. She doesn't love herself, and she wishes that she could change her third defining characteristic--her fear. Each day, she feels tortured by her fear, even though her teachers try to assure her that the sooner she embraces it, the sooner she will love herself and move forward in life. Through a series of events, Victoria finds herself on an unlikely journey with the most unlikely people. She begins to wonder if the key to personal happiness isn't what she has always been taught. To find out, she must choose to be courageous, ignoring the conventional wisdom of her culture. Alicia Yates is excited about her first novel, There Is No Such Thing. She and her husband work at a church and Christian school in Florida, and their passion is to reach the next generation with the timeless truths of the Bible. Her prayer is that the Lord would use this novel to help teenagers understand what it means to find their identity in Jesus Christ.

The personage of this story, Rocco, besides surviving by his own instinct the chaotic time of the dangerous nazist take over, he also remained untouched from those same events that affected others by the intuitive intervention of his young spouse who stood up with the strength of all her love and faith to keep the marriage and him untouched from alienation. Andrea G. Parrella was born in Brusciano (Napoli) Italy and moved to the USA in 1972. He is a Civil Engineer who served the Department of Transportation of New Jersey in the Division of Designs and Construction for thirty-one years. • av Thomas Patrick
    245

It has been three years since Thomas J Patrick authored his first book entitled "To Be Sure Not". In it the author used humor along with sober reflection to look beyond some of the true realities he experienced. The conclusion is that our perspective should be the same as God's. It is said that time heals all wounds. Time also gives us understanding of lessons we were meant to spiritually mature from and sometimes even laugh about. Thomas still resides in his lifelong hometown of Creswell in eastern North Carolina. As the world grows in leaps and bounds, this small farm community seems to be nearing the edge of extinction, a place that is over looked and forgotten. The author sees the church experiencing the same issues today. Today's following is so decadent and laminated that its strong doctrinal skeletal frame is being reduced to that of an octopus. The apostle Paul wrote to Timothy in great detail concerning the condition of believers in the last days. The apostle John wrote the prophetic unction in Revelations that describes the condition of the last church age. And let us not forget the disturbing words of our Lord and Savior, "Will I find faith when I return?" This book addresses subjects that should be dear to every believer. They should not be distorted images on the other side of smoke and mirrors. Was faith meant to be a show horse or an ox that plows long, deep and steady? On October 9, 1980 Thomas J Patrick started a brand new life. In a split second he went from being the typical American Christian Church frequenter to being intimately inducted into the kingdom of God by the Blood of Jesus Christ. Filled with the Spirit and called by God to preach, he soon left to attend a faith school in New York. His experience at Long Island Bible Institute was priceless and provided sound and stable footing. At fifty-nine years old, he has been preaching for thirty-nine years and has authored two books.

  • av Pastor Ronald D Kosor
    175,-

Within the pages of this book lie over forty years of intense Bible study and research that I am going to share with you. The Jerusalem Council is a deep and advanced look at what happened in the early church regarding the writing of the New Covenant. 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV), "study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." Every single Jew, Messianic Jew, Gentile, and Born Again Christian was, and will be affected by the Jerusalem Council. It was the most important council in the history of mankind. Below are seven specific mysteries, questions that I will address and answer. What specifically was the purpose of the Jerusalem Council? How will this council affect Gentiles, Born-again Christians, Jews, and Messianic Jews forever? What specific decisions and decrees were made at the council? How does each decree the Holy Spirit chose affect you individually? What specific epistle was created at this extremely important Council? Who was this letter was delivered to and why? How does this letter tie all the other epistles together? Each one of these questions will specifically be addressed in this book. The revelation of this mystery will better help you understand the Word of God. A mystery is a hidden truth that can only be seen by a divine revelation. According to Acts 3:21; Jesus is being held in Heaven until the restoration of all things. To restore means you must bring something back to its original condition. This process is exactly what is happening today. If you desire a deeper knowledge and understanding of the New Covenant this book is for you.

  • - Reflections on the Sunday and Feast Day Scripture Readings of the Orthodox Church
    av Fr Stavros N Akrotirianakis
    385,-

I pray that this book will help each of us in not only understanding the Scriptures, but will empower each of us to share our understanding with others. Indeed, this book is titled "Let Us Be Attentive" because in being attentive to the Scriptures, we receive the spiritual nourishment that keeps our personal faith dynamic and enables and empowers us to spread the gospel truth in our church communities and far beyond. His Eminence, Metropolitan Methodios of Boston What is the Bible trying to tell us? The Bible is the most significant and most widely read book in world history. Both Christians and non-Christians are familiar with its name: everyone knows what the Bible is. However, many Christians struggle to read the Bible. For many, the book is even too intimidating to start. Others struggle to understand what they are reading or to apply it to their lives. The answers, though, are right before you. Every time a word of Scripture is read in the Orthodox Church, it is preceded by the phrase "Let us be attentive." Two thoughts come to mind as we contemplate these words. First, we are reminded to pay attention to what we are about to hear. Second, we realize that we need to attend to and act on the information we hear. If the scriptures tell us, as an example, to forgive our neighbor "seventy times seven" (Matthew 18:22), then we need to be attentive in our lives and make sure that we are more forgiving towards others, including those who hurt us or are our enemies. May God open your hearts as you read this book so you can better comprehend the messages provided in Scripture and apply them throughout your life's daily journey to salvation.
