  • - One poet's view of the world
    av Robert Lee Oberst
    245

How do you answer when someone asks, "What's new?" If you find yourself saying, "Nothing has changed", then you may be ready to look at life with new eyes as you read A Delicate and Precious Gift. Oberst's observations of everything around him - his garden, the changing seasons, wildlife and memories - will ignite an appreciation of the simple beauty in the world around each of us. Whether you live in Syracuse or a community far away, you can take joy in his descriptions of the beauty of nature, local events and even his beloved sports team, the Syracuse Orange. His words help each of us to step back, appreciate what we have close to home and become aware of what is right outside our window in our own community. "His words help one to focus on the things that are truly important like the feeling of fresh snow falling down, remembering the sacrifices of our vets and first responders, and the simple joys of spring. Oberst's approach to the written word is thoughtful and welcome in this busy world. Lisa Monroe, Editor, Adirondack Express "For someone like myself who never cared for poetry, his poems have helped me learn an appreciation for poetry." Sheryl Bacon, Managing Editor, The Gardeners of America/Men's &Women's Garden Clubs of America

What a wonder it would be if we who claim Christ’s name and put our lives into His hands; let Him do as He pleases with us no matter the cost, no matter the outcome, even if it  be the trials of fire. “In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (1 Peter 1:6-7 NKJV} “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (Timothy 4:7 NKJV}This was Paul’s last message of his life. This very proclamation has been a challenge to myself and many others who love our Lord above all else. My prayer for my life and others, is that we will have such a cry at our end, when our race is finished. This book is written for all those who hunger after God, and cry out daily: “Yet not My will, but Yours be done.”

  • - The Flow of YOUR Life Positive or Negative
    av Susie M Pope
    245

Life can be difficult at times, trying to find purpose in a world that seems to spin without purpose. However, God created people with purposes in mind and how we can find God’s purposes for us is in our daily walks with Him in life. In the new book, Stream of Exception, author Susie Pope discusses making a difference for God through making the most of each day and doing unto others as you would want done for yourself. Realizing that judging others has become the norm, Susie conveys beliefs in not judging and not relying on worldly possessions for satisfaction. What she believes instead is to acknowledge God first, seeking an intimate relationship with Him and not going one’s own way. She learned firsthand, especially in a brief venture into Islam, that doing the Father’s will reveals who we are in Christ more than we could on our own.

“What is it that can never be taken from us yet is priceless and most desirable? What can be given and received unconditionally anytime? What is God’s glue for creation? Love! “A Very Very Very Special Thing” explains love simply for anyone. God connects us to each other, to creation and to Himself through love. This is how we experience peace, joy and harmony. Love is the most Special Thing, especially for children.”In the early 2000’s a family experienced one of life’s devastating events: their home and belongings of several years burned to the ground. The unexpected and untimely loss of family pictures, wedding memories, keep-sakes, toys and unreplaceable personal treasures, was devastating to say the least. The family experienced shock and profound grief although thankful that no one was physically hurt. The grief was not based solely on their loss of family possessions.  The loss of not easily replaceable personal and emotional investments in journals, art, music, and family memories generated a unique fear, sadness and helplessness. Feelings of emptiness, loneliness, and the big “why” questions surfaced with few answers and few paths to recovery. These are profound feelings and most difficult to live with day-to-day, even moment-to-moment individually and as a family. This is especially true for children who might carry the grief for many many years.Loss presents us with many different paths. And those experiencing loss usually travel many of the paths in order to accept the loss and to experience a new normal, moving forward. One of those paths is the opportunity to explore and understand what is of utmost important in life. A Very Very Very Special Thing is a short book about God, who is Love. There are not many words and no real profound thoughts. The book attempts to be a reminder to those who believe in the one True God of what is truly important in life and the most valuable thing than can never be taken from you, only given and received.

  • - Separate but similar A True Story
av Demetria Johnson & Sharronda Johnson Brown
    159,-

Mommy and Me” was written by my daughter and I. It was divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit. Our mission is to educate, empower, equip and teach mothers (guardians, mentors etc.) in today’s society on how to effectively communicate with our daughters/sons (fathers and sons/daughters). “Communication” is vital in this hour, it’s a lifeline. We’re losing so many of our young people to so much, especially “bullying” and “suicide.” One of the main reasons is because they feel they don’t have anyone to talk to or no one understands them. As parents we must remain relatable. We understand that most relationships are deficient in this area. Some of us weren’t taught how to communicate effectively and how to work through your emotions. Or you may come from cycles of dysfunction, hostile environments, or either homes where communication just didn’t exist. This book will teach you how to build bridges, reconstruct, renew and revive your relationships. It will also enlighten you on being the first to break family patterns and change the course of what once was. Reading this book will be the start of a new chapter in your life as well as your family. May God Bless You! Sharronda Johnson Brown and Demetria Johnson, are mother and daughter.  The both of them are Humanitarians, Mothers/Leaders in their homes and communities.  Sharronda has been a wife for a little over 15 years, mother for over 22 years, Glam-ma, Minister of the Gospel, Global Evangelist, mentor and Entrepreneur.  Demetria share the same calling currently she’s a Millennial in training.  They both are world travelers, with an assignment and mandate by God to Reconstruct, Redefine, and Restore families.  There’s a Grace that rest on their lives to destroy barriers, heal, deliver and set free all of humanity all mankind.

I went on a quest to find information that would give me a better understanding of the scriptures that I might draw closer to God. I was amazed with what I found. Buried in Bible commentaries and the archives of the Vatican, I found proof of the accuracy of the Bible. In my book, I share this information, which can be used to answer questions about God, our salvation, and defend the Bible.  Also in the book is the story “They Are Not Too Young.” The story is about two teenagers, who give their hearts to Jesus. I wrote the story to be used as a tool to explain God’s love and His salvation. Also in my book is a collection of my poems based on the Psalms. I enjoy creating poems, which praise My Savior and sing of the glory of the King of Heaven. I hope my readers enjoy my poems and rediscover the wonder and miracle of God’s love and salvation.Ann McCormack Moore is a student of the Bible, a writer, and teacher. She graduated from Charleston Southern Christian University with a degree in education, psychology, and a certificate in teaching children with autism. She is an artist, enjoys singing in the church choir, and sharing her poems with her friends.

Inspiring is the keyword describing Andrew Morris’ book, The Ladder. His existence of want and sacrifice is one that tells the story of a man from a young age who spent years just trying to survive and had no focus and no idea of what to do with his life. Then in a magic moment, he came to know that he wanted to dedicate his future to helping young people who were in great need of many kinds of support. He found that to do so he would have to educate not only the youth but their parents as well. After two failed marriages, Andrew found the perfect loving partner in his wife, Nicole, and they established the Raising The Bridge non-profit youth organization. In The Ladder, Andrew outlines the battles and successes he’s lived through in his personal life, in providing for his own children, and in doing all he can within Raising The Bridge to meet the emotional, physical, educational, and spiritual needs of his home town youth.

Up Close and Personal takes an honest look within and highlights personal growth while serving others. The Journey Continues offers hope while fighting the “good fight of faith.” And Jesus is the Reason for the Season shares how to honor God during the holidays, along with a sweet surprise at the end.Instead of lamenting my lack, I wrote letters with you in mind. It continues to be my hope and prayer that through them you are encouraged, enlightened, and eternally convinced that you’re not alone!Meredith Sheppard’s encouragement letter, Wives In Touch, now in print!Meredith and I were married eight weeks after I became the assistant pastor of our home congregation in Philadelphia. Think about all the women you know. How many of them would choose to become a pastor’s wife? Probably few, if any at all!But Meredith is no ordinary woman. As a youngster, she fell in love with Jesus and wanted to do His will, no matter the cost. And years later, when she accepted my proposal of marriage, she committed to being the best companion a servant of God could ask for. Fortunately for me, she has always lived up to that commitment. The letters contained in this book are rich with insights, candor, loving guidance, and encouragement. Meredith’s heart desires to strengthen the hands and hope of pastors’ wives everywhere. May that desire be fulfilled in your life as you read and apply the wisdom shared herein. Pastor Paul E. Wisdom's Seven Pillars is a women’s Bible study by Author Nancy Sari that teaches the seven pillars that uphold wisdom's house found in Proverbs 9:1. Wisdom’s seven pillars, according to scripture, are: fear of the Lord, instruction, knowledge, understanding, discretion, counsel, and reproof. Beginning with fear of the Lord as the beginning of wisdom and continuing with knowledge of the Holy One being understanding, the author weaves scripture truths and Bible stories with real-life examples for each of wisdom’s pillars, which helps participants deeply discern what is included in each of the pillars. Some Bible stories included are Queen Esther, Nabal and Abigail, Apostle Paul’s reproof of the churches at Corinth and Pergamos, and more. The result is that readers and Bible study participants takeaway a deeper knowledge and understanding of our Lord and grow in His wisdom.
