"Mom, what's the root word in funeral?" Sena Whitaker's son, Omar, asked. "I don't know; what is it?" "Fun," Omar replied. "And when I die, I want my funeral to be fun." It pricked Sena's heart when Omar said that, and she tried to shrug it off. "I'll be long gone before you die, so you won't have to worry about that," she replied. Omar didn't say anything. Little did Sena know in less than 30 days she would be planning Omar's funeral when he was tragically taken to heaven by four gunshots in his back. She didn't equate his death or funeral with fun by any stretch of the imagination. In this vivid and gripping book, Sena authentically casts you down into the depths of her sorrows. She speaks to the reader personally about her emotionally charged journey to harmonize reality and her perception of God's character after her son's murder. You will read pages from Sena's private journal, get to know Omar through a glimpse of his life, have a front-row seat in the trials of Omar's murderers, read of Sena's struggle with forgiveness, and learn how she went from being wounded but healed. This book is for you if you are grieving your child's death or going through grief with someone who has. It is also helpful for those seeking knowledge about how parents who have lost a child deal with it and those facing complex life challenges. As you read it, you will be comforted, strengthened, encouraged, inspired, and challenged by God's sovereignty, love, and justice-even WHEN YOU THINK GOD ISN'T FAIR.

This book examines God's grant of salvation in a unique and interesting way. It seeks to answer the question of how people can be assured that they are saved and whether they will be ushered into heaven at the end of their lives. It answers this question as if this query were on trial, because that's just what this author has done. With over 40 years of experience in the courtroom, Collins addresses the question of salvation through an in-depth process that is both intriguing and entertaining. Readers sit as jurors while both sides of this case for salvation are presented. They will be treated to arguments, eye witness and expert testimony and documentary evidence in support of each side of this question. In the end, the readers can judge for themselves; is God's grant of salvation guaranteed? Lewis F. • av Sabrina B. Gray
    185,-

Everyone has experienced a sense of brokenness in their lives; the feeling that inwardly you are in pieces and aren't sure when you will become whole again. But in the new memoir from author Sabrina Gray, Mending Brokenness, Sabrina wants to use her story of brokenness to inspire readers to see that a relationship with God is the eternal balm to heal anyone's brokenness. Reflecting on painful moments in her life where she wasn't sure what to do, Sabrina describes how the reassurance of God's mercy, love, and deliverance reminded her that hope was still there and found through her relationship with Christ. As she dealt with the difficult points in her journey, Sabrina learned the importance of leaning on God for support and showing her vulnerable side to the Lord. These faithful actions taught Sabrina that brokenness could actually become a strength for us, but it is the admitting of being broken that people must come to terms with first. Whether it was dealing with the struggles of divorce or revealing her "uglies" to God or even harnessing her love of teaching into a calling and career, Sabrina seeks to be as honest and open with readers to encourage them to also be open with the Lord and willing to walk intimately with Him. The hope is that readers see trusting God with the good and bad parts of our lives, especially the broken parts, will bring us not only blessings but a stronger, loving connection to Him. Brokenness is something we all go through at some point in our lives, but if we give that brokenness over to God, we can see it used for healing us and bringing glory to Him. theater77@usinghandsandheart.com
