Baytoram Ramharack was born in Berbice, Guyana. He teaches history and political science at Nassau Community College. His previous publications include Against the Grain: Balram Singh Rai and the Politics of Guyana (2005); and Jung Bahadur Singh of Guyana (1886-1956): Politician, ship doctor, labor leader and protector of Indians (2019). He remains a strong advocate and supporter of stable democracy in Guyana. Dr. Ramharack is working on a forthcoming book examining Cheddi Jagan's relationship with Indians in Guyana.

Imagine being at the end of your life and you fail the test that will determine whether you get in heaven or not. You can't take this test over. And it's a test we just can't get around. No matter who you are, no matter what you have done, sooner or later you must take this test. Even though there is no way around, there is a way to pass this test. Just call on Jesus. He is available 24/7, and he will save you. See, for me, I was 30 at the time and thought I knew and had it all. I didn't need anybody for nothing let me tell it. I was prepared for the world, but I wasn't prepared for the end of the world. God had something prepared for me that changed and saved my life. It all happened due to curiosity.

The fundamental basis of Judaism, as is well known, is the Torah, the teachings contained in the Pentateuch, the five biblical books the composition of which is traditionally attributed to Moses. These teachings may be grouped in two basic categories, matters between man and man, individually as well as societally, and matters between man and God. The basic guidelines that apply in matters between man and man are referred to as mishpatim or 'ordinances,' whereas those applying to matters between man and God are referred to as 'statutes.' The fundamental distinction between the two categories is that the 'ordinances' are subject to human judgment, whereas the 'statutes' are not; the divine reason for them a mystery, about which people may speculate but cannot know for certain.The present work is primarily concerned with four 'statutes' that have direct and significant impact on the lives of those committed to compliance with them. Since simply rejecting any of them is not an acceptable option, over the millennia since their codification in the Torah efforts have been made to deal with them under conditions that are significantly different from those that prevailed at the beginning of their revelation. Given that the 'statutes' as set forth in the Torah cannot be tampered with, issues have been raised regarding how they are to be applied in the contemporary Jewish world. These reflections are not intended to propose answers to those issues, but only to clarify their significance and their present treatment in the various schools of Judaic thought.

This book is designed to solve the coming fiscal crisis in the US. Increasing debt will lead to hyperinflation within ten years. According to the CBO, if the US continues business as usual, the US will have a debt of $50 trillion in a decade. Investors will flee the US bond market and the Federal Reserve will end up paying off this debt with inflated currency (a technical but not actual default). Flooding our economy with fiat currency will result in hyperinflation and unemployment with the likelihood of a worldwide depression. The solution is not to increase the US debt. The only way this is possible is to balance the federal discretionary and mandatory budgets. Interest on the debt should be paid by the Federal Reserve without borrowing more money, i.e., just printing money. The easiest way to balance the budgets is to cut the military and Medicare budgets. Using President Biden's proposed 2022 budget, we need to cut the military budget from $.8 trillion to $.3 trillion (still greater than China's and Russia's combined military budget) and reduce Medicare expenses by 50%. Medicare expenses can be cut by providing a low option Medicare plan (subsidized to the extent of 50%) with significant coinsurance and co-payments.
