About Writing RightWriting Right is an illustrated children's book whose main character is Noah, a third grade boy with dysgraphia. Many people have never heard of dysgraphia and that is one of the primary reasons for this book. Dysgraphia affects writing skills and can make learning very difficult. In this book, Noah learns to work through his struggles with dysgraphia through perseverance, help from his mom, computer resources, and occupational therapy. Through Noah's story, I hope to shed some light on this lesser-­known disability and aid those affected.From the AuthorHello! I'm Cassie, the author of this book. I'm a high school student from Virginia and for my Girl Scout Gold Award project, I wanted to write a children's book that would help kids cope with the learning disability dysgraphia. I hope that kids can relate to Noah and learn along with him.

This book comprises the stories of twelve journeys: the road traveled by former business people, members of the military, pastors, engineers and bankers all of whom responded to the calling to become a teacher. Its purpose is to inspire others who might be contemplating a similar journey in order to transition into teaching.Career Switchers are risk takers. In many instances they leave secure and well paid jobs in order to venture into the unknown world of education and they do this so that they can make a difference in the lives of children. They become students themselves to complete the coursework, they compete with all other candidates to get hired, and they subject themselves to the challenges of teaching instead of remaining in the comfort zone of their previous career.Each of the twelve chapters tells a unique story, and the reader can rest assured that everything in each chapter is absolutely true!

For nearly two decades, Professors Michael K. Ponton and Paul B. Carr have formulated discussions of self-directed and autonomous learning by building upon the conceptual frameworks provided by Professors Emeriti Gary Confessore (learner autonomy and conation) and Albert Bandura (social cognitive theory, human agency, and self-efficacy). Using an agentic perspective of personal agency to describe learning, the agent as a learner engages in forethought to adopt goals of personal value and formulate learning plans; reacts to this ideation by enacting plans; reflects upon consequences and outcomes; and uses this acquired information to inform future learning plans. Their work and that with their colleagues has included both theoretical discussions and original research. This edited compendium, primarily consisting of previously published articles, is the result of those efforts.
