  • - America's Best in Vietnam
    av Terry L Garlock
    549,-

Decades ago, political struggles buried the truth about the Vietnam War in a tangle of myths, half-truths and lies, and the truth is still hard to find today. No matter which side of the argument you favor, the truth is not all that pretty, but the one constant was the faithful and capable service of the troops America sent to fight that war. They never received the nation's gratitude they had earned, and many kept their story and even their service to themselves since the American public believed the worst about them. By refusing to see how well these troops had served their country, America lost a generation of heroes. The public still knows for sure things about the Vietnam War, and its vets, that have never been true. In this book, Terry L. Garlock helps a number of Vietnam veterans tell a piece of their own story and lets the reader decide what to believe. Some of these stories have never before been told. When we send soldiers to war, we owe them our fidelity and our gratitude, and we owe them a truthful history of what they endured for us. This book helps a number of vets tell their truth, the good and the bad.

    av Michael Frederick Reber
    449,-

"What Is Seen and What Is Not Seen: Fun Systems Thinking Activities with Frédéric Bastiat" is a supplementary activity book to Virginia Anderson and Lauren Keller Johnson's "Systems Thinking Basics: From Concepts to Causal Loops." It is specifically designed for economics students or anyone interested in economics, and applies the systems thinking concepts and tools in "Systems Thinking Basics." The systems thinking praxis of this activity book is unique. No other systems thinking book on the market applies in an engaging and fun way Bastiat's seminal work in economic thought. Furthermore, Bastiat's writing is simple and to the point and this makes using systems thinking for economics easy and fun. Another unique quality of this book is its "functional" table of contents. This means it shows learning alignment: topics, course learning outcomes, unit learning outcomes, activities, and assessment are all explicit. It is designed to be very simple and clear in order for the student to know what is to be learned, why it is to be learned, and how learning is to be assessed.

Recent archeological and linguistic evidence reveals that the Jews of the New Testament era spoke Hebrew, not Greek as has been taught for so many years. With this revelation, we can conclude that the teachings of the New Testament were first conveyed, either in spoken or written form, in Hebrew, which means that the New Testament must be understood from a Hebraic perspective and not a Greek one. The first step in this process is to translate the Greek words of the New Testament into Hebrew. While translating the Greek words into Hebrew, may sound overwhelming for many, it is in fact, a very simple process that anyone can perform, even without any prior studies in Greek or Hebrew. All that is required is a Strong's Concordance and this book. This book lists the five hundred most frequent Greek words of the New Testament and provides their Hebrew translations and Hebraic definitions, with all Greek and Hebrew words cross-referenced with Strong's numbers.

Is God personal and intimate? Does He really see and hear all? Can anyone see, hear and feel God? In this follow-up to her compelling book "Michael, an Endtime Sign" these questions are answered by Carolyn Smith Phillips. Come take a journey with a six-year-old child that woke up one day at age eight with the gift of dreams, visions, angel visitations, seeing the future events and witnessing them come to pass and discerning spirits, which means she saw light in dark spirits. An eight-year-old child in a rural community in the fifties found herself without a Mom, having to become a mom herself to her little brother and sister, with help from her two heroes. Can you imagine yourself or your child having this much responsibility at eight? This book is packed with wisdom, funny sayings, courage, faith, surrender, and a country lifestyle on a Virginia farm that will make you think about your own self and how blessed you really were. The simple straight-forward truths were interwoven into this child's life that made her stand out in crowds and most of the time feel like a misfit.

  • - My Life with Autism
    av Marc Rivera
    302

In Tears of Pain: My Life with Autism, Marc Rivera welcomes you to his world of autism and chronicles his daily struggle to fit in to a world so unlike his own. The objective is to help people understand how much individuals in the Autism Spectrum need to be accepted as they are by society. Based on his journal, Marc recounts many of the personal challenges he faced: bullying and ridicule from his peers, poor communication with teachers, trying to make sense of "The Rules" both at school and as a whole - to name a few. In this alien world, Marc felt safe only in his own home. It was there that he felt, for the most part, safe and protected. He could always count on the love and support of his family, although at times they felt just as confused and lost as Marc. Tears of Pain: My Life with Autism is a call to society to enter into the world of autism. Our hope is that readers will gain a better understanding of individuals within the Autism Spectrum. These special people, so similar yet so different from you and me, suffer torment and misunderstanding only because their brains are wired differently.
