I believed in my friends more than myself...They had convinced me to leave my family to stop my dad from sexually assaulting me. Being there for my family was my life. I thought our small LGBTQ+ community would be my chosen family. We survived suicidal ideation and sexual assault, but our lives overwhelm and divide us. What happens when my friends are gone? I try to take steps forward with my education and friendships. I am not sure if I am enough. Who am I now?

I was one of the 1st 12 women in the U.S.A. to work in police radio car. Until then, women were delegated to inside desk jobs. We were under a tremendous handicap. The male deputies received a full police uniform with all of the safety equipment. The women wore a mini skirt, nylons, high heel shoes, WHITE blouse without a police patch on the shoulder, (the blouse was a real target at night), we couldn't wear a gun belt or any other police equipment. We WERE permitted to carry a 38 cal. revolver and hand cuffs inside a black shoulder purse, that slid off my shoulder every time I moved. It was impossible to get to my gun or handcuffs out of my shoulder purse. Working under those circumstances was very dangerous and difficult to do your job. Most of the time, I was without a gun or hand cuffs. I had to use my own imagination to handle most cases involving violence or anger.

Revolutionary poet Federico Garcia Lorca was murdered by the Fascists in August of 1936. Like thousands of others lost in the Spanish Civil War, his body, consigned to an unmarked grave, was never found. The general who signed his death warrant justified his action by claiming that Lorca's words were more powerful than ten thousand guns. In his poetry, his plays and in his life, Lorca was very outspoken against the regime and its allies, the Catholic Church. He once wrote that "In Spain the dead are more alive than the dead in any other country of the world." In saying this, he immortalized himself. The quest to find him, to find his grave, and to understand the rich nuances of his words, continues to this day. In this novella set in contemporary Spain, Angelina, a girl of eight, finds Lorca's weeping spirit huddled beside a fountain in the heart of Granada. Because of his ignominious death, he is paralyzed and cannot leave the city where he was raised and ultimately executed. She befriends him, and in this elegy of love and redemption, Lorca finds his voice once more. In the time that he spends with Angelina, he also finds a friendship that heals them both.

Facing many possible suspects and motives, but few persons she can trust, the reclusive Doctor Brandon enlists John to help her elude discovery and buy time to identify who is trying to kill her. But, when Major Ellmeera Majang, the former head of the late Colonel al-Megrahi's personal body guard unit, cannot find conclusive proof of Nicole's death, she is on the hunt to make certain the biologist will not compromise Saif's operation, and more importantly, the new kind of freedom Ellmeera wishes for the young women who make up her team. Ellmeera is betrayed and destined to suffer a catastrophic fate that unintentionally includes Nicole and John, while al-Warfalli is pushed to reconsider his loyalty to the Megrahis. The Hawk of Quraish is a contemporary fiction thriller - a story of desperation, deceit and reconciliation and delves into the inborn values that govern all of the world's "intelligent" animals.

After a health scare, Mitch starts a series of life changes that ultimately lead to the most unlikely of journeys: walking 800 kilometers across northern Spain along the Camino de Santiago. Setting out with his wife of thirty years Mary Lou, and a promise to "follow everything and every opportunity that crosses my path", they are woefully unprepared for the journey ahead; and would have to quickly adapt to the physical, mental and spiritual challenges that at times seemed far heavier than the packs they carried. Through backaches and blisters, bug bites and sunburns, and old injuries that threatened to end the pilgrimage shortly after starting: the Camino challenged, encouraged and called them on. Coincidences and visions, questions and epiphanies, triumph and tragedy, old burdens and new friends, all began to weave a powerful story that challenged long-held beliefs.

How is bedtime going for your kids? The goal of this book is to enhance the bedtime experience for parents and children alike. It is based on a simple routine that I created for my own four lively children when all else failed in getting them to settle at night. Bedtime is one aspect of parenthood where children know exactly which buttons to push to cause tired parents to lose patience. The routine described in this book is based on stretching and relaxing muscles. I wish you well as you flop, wiggle, and wave your way into an easier bedtime experience with your child.
