Two days after Saigon fell to the communists, Hoa Minh Truong walked along the path leading to the Tan Xuyen village council. He had been there many times during his army service but this time he was filled with fear. The extra-tight security included a young Viet Cong trooper who clutched a Russian-made AK-47 automatic rifle in his small hands. The gun was just one of many multi-death tools supplied in the name of revolution by the major communist powers to Vietnam's communists. The trooper could not have been more than fifteen years old. In the yard next to the building Hoa noticed a huge heap of uniforms, helmets, boots, belts and ammunition. All of these items had been dumped there when the South Vietnam government surrendered and ordered its forces to disarm. Hoa was on the losing side of the war for reasons that, to him, remained unclear and unacceptable. Now, he and many thousands of others were being forced into so-called re-education camps. Held there without trial, these prisoners faced terrible conditions and cruel punishments. Many did not survive, but Hoa did. In this remarkable book, he offers his story to the world.Author Hoa Minh Truong is a well-published author of fiction, non-fiction and poetry in the Vietnamese language. He now lives in Perth, Australia with his wife and daughter.

"The pieces you are about to read are not just poetry. These pieces are my diary. It is a growing experience for me and hopefully for you too. Some of the pieces are riddles ... Some of the pieces are to be taken literally; others are not. You decide." - Jesse CougotThis is a collection of poetry about the trials and tribulations of a young man's life. The compelling prose addresses confusion, meditation, spirituality (or sometimes lack thereof), sexuality, anger, resentment, love, lust, freedom, heaven, hell, masochism, suicidal tendencies, suicidal attempts, actual suicide, politics, and all the other ways the young author has chosen to express his emotions, both positive and negative.Readers will find it difficult to put down Rudimentary, one man's deeply moving expressions of his personal life experiences.Between February 1999 and December 2002, author Jesse Cougot experienced a poetic journey that spanned from Houston to Orlando, Florida, and resulted in Rudimentary: very imperfectly developed, a collection of poetry. Cougot has plans to pen a follow-up to this collection, as well as to write other genres of books and create a screenplay. He now resides in Houston, TX.https://www.facebook.com/trademarkedbyjesse/

Shortly before WWII erupts, George Ghikas starts having recurring dreams about an unknown dancing girl. Because George has Greek ancestry, the military sends him behind enemy lines on occupied Crete with orders to organize partisan groups in the White Mountains. While George is performing his important work, he has hallucinations of the same dancing girl who has appeared so often in his dreams. Progressively, George is enmeshed in a 3,600-year-old world, where it appears he was once the victim of a human sacrifice ceremony that was taking place in a restored Minoan temple located near his current base camp. The girl who has been haunting his dreams is the officiating priestess during the ancient sacrificial ceremony... until the temple is destroyed by an earthquake. Back in the 20th century, George narrowly avoids a suicide attempt by reenacting the sacrificial ceremony of so long ago...until the temple is once again destroyed, this time by German bombs.Author Nigel Patten loves words and the music behind them. He teaches English literature for the French Baccalaureate in an international alpine college. Patten grew up in the United Kingdom and later moved to Switzerland. He now lives and writes in a ski resort in the mountains above Lake Geneva.
