The Longest Walk takes the reader into every baseball fan's ultimate fantasy: seeing the greatest players who ever lived play together when it really counts. What if a Babe Ruth homerun could save a kid's life? This question and others are answered when Don Ogilvie, a fifty-something boozy minor league hitting coach, makes a deal with Death. He bargains to trade his life for that of his best friend, Roberto, a terminally ill seven-year-old. But first, the alcoholic coach must win the really big one. Ogilvie's "challenge" is to manage a team of dead Hall of Famers against a powerful squad fielded by Death Personified and captained by the bitter and bigoted Ty Cobb. This "other World(ly) Series" takes place at a venue called Limbotown.Baseball becomes a metaphor for the road of life, with all its twists, turns and unexpected pitfalls. There's no game in the world that lends itself more to drama, humor, and magic than baseball. The Longest Walk is "Damn Yankees," "Field of Dreams," and "Rocky" combined. You will love it!About the Author: Kirk Marty is the pen name of Kirk Grossman, an attorney and dedicated Dodger fan in Ventura, California. "The way I see it, I've been a professional writer for over 33 years. As a practicing attorney, I've cranked out literally hundreds of thousands of pages of mumbo jumbo. Legal writing provides great instruction on the wrong way to create fiction, although some attorneys often confuse the two. Still, it is the type of writing that requires great precision and focus, qualities needed for good fiction as well." He has already started his next novel.Publisher's website:http://www.strategicpublishinggroup.com/title/TheLongestWalk.html

As a result of LSD ingestion in 1994, I awoke a beast in the grip of mental illness and, being untreated for approximately seven years, violence and irrationality became mainstream. Finally force-medicated in prison hospital, I slowly reconnected old neurological maps and formed new ones. All the while, I always felt I had something to offer creatively, eventually morphing into an author. My battle with homelessness finally ceased mid 2009, and again I found my feet relating to employment, being acknowledged as the most financially successful "Big Issue" vendor since its inception to Australia. I was given the go-ahead by specialists to discontinue medication in November 2011, and now consider myself neuro typical, which coincided with an offer by Strategic Books to publish my works. It has been a hell of a journey thus far and I feel I am still only a small part of the way through. I have much, much more to offer as an author and will publish again, no doubt.Psychotic Verses was written within prison, hospital and asylums. These works are a result of what little rationalisation I possessed.About the Author: Glenn J. Pilley "The Pill" lives in Sydney and is a street vendor for the charitable magazine "The Big Issue."

The Black Dolphin is an autobiographical work author Zubia Naqvi was inspired to write after moving to Tanzania. There she was confronted with poverty and injustice that began to make her see her past experiences in a new light.Born in Pakistan to Indian parents, Zubia immigrated to Italy when she was just one year old. Growing up in Europe as an Asian, she often felt like an outsider. At the same time, she maintained great affection for India and Pakistan. Encouraged by her father, she developed an interest in travel and other cultures. Moving to London, she got her degree in communication studies, focusing on issues of race, identity and religion. Through writing this book, Zubia reconnects with her roots. Ultimately she discovers that she is fulfilling what her father dreamed for her, although the manner in which she accomplishes this comes as something of a surprise. This book was written in part to honor her father's choices and the struggles of all those who try to escape poverty.Experiences in this book are not relayed in chronological order, but are instead woven together as memories of other places connected by events. Scenes shift between Italy, Ghana, Holland, Tanzania, and India. Sparked by her experiences in Africa, Zubia's past and present combine to form a new perspective on identity, immigration, and her family's history. Zubia Naqvi was born in Pakistan and grew up in Rome. She now resides in Tanzania with her husband. Having left her job at the United Nations, she now devotes her time to raising the couple's children and writing. Zyanya: Always and Forever is the beginning of a three-book saga that takes place in a central Mexican rainforest. Zyanya is the name of the prosperous coffee plantation that Severo Alba founded. Former shaman and now deceased, Severo's lineage was chosen to bear and raise the child who would one day become the Great Shaman, fulfilling a 550-year-old prophecy. His son and grandson reject their heritage. They flee from the legend, the rituals, and shamanism. Now the ancient prophecy's time has come, when a great Shaman shall rise against evil, combining the power and wisdom of the most influential shamans in all the tribes. It is Jairo, Alba's great-grandson's time. Having been raised in Texas, away from Zyanya and the prophecies, 17-year-old Jairo is completely unaware of his legacy. The story begins when Tabatha, a 16-year-old girl from Dallas who is involuntarily moving with her parents to a third world country where her stepfather will be a doctor, arrives at a tiny village where the coffee plantation Zyanya is located. She is angry at leaving behind her life in Dallas and has a recurring dream about a boy who unsettles her. Uprooted from their city lives, these two teens face terrifying danger, as sorcery, magic and romance touch their lives. Greta Benavides-Adame was born in Monterrey, Mexico.
