Over the past decade, Artificial Intelligence has proved invaluable in a range of industry verticals such as automotive and assembly, life sciences, retail, oil and gas, and travel. The leading sectors adopting AI rapidly are Financial Services, Automotive and Assembly, High Tech and Telecommunications. Travel has been slow in adoption, but the opportunity for generating incremental value by leveraging AI to augment traditional analytics driven solutions is extremely high. The contributions in this book, originally published as a special issue for the Journal of Revenue and Pricing Management, showcase the breadth and scope of the technological advances that have the potential to transform the travel experience, as well as the individuals who are already putting them into practice.

This open access book constitutes the proceedings of the 24th International Conference on Agile Software Development, XP 2023, which took place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, during June 13-16, 2023.XP is the premier agile software development conference combining research and practice. This book provides a comprehensive overview of the current progress in fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP), covering manufacturing, mechanical behavior, and resistance performance. It includes the elastic and damage behavior of unidirectional FRP, and highlights the improvements achieved by adding multiwall carbon nanotubes. The material resistance is assessed through fatigue response, local behavior, local properties, and failure mechanisms, including crack density and microcrack propagation behavior. The book also explores the degradation of macroscopic mechanical properties such as elastic modulus and compressive strength versus plastic strains. This book gathers ten thermofluid dynamics problems involving the use of analytical solutions. All these problems have been encountered by the author during his research activity; some of the solutions are his own contributions, while others either are classic literature results or can be derived from them. The physical phenomena involved range from pure hydrodynamics to flow with heat or mass transfer, two-phase flow, and magnetohydrodynamics. The problems discussed are not canonical problems; they are rarely found in textbooks, and often exhibit surprising, or even paradoxical, solutions. The potential readership of the book includes students, teachers and scientists in science and engineering interested in fluid dynamics and heat/mass transfer: to them it may offer food for thought, suggestions for lectures or tutorials and ideas for further original developments.

This book provides a concise survey and description of recent collision detection methods for robot manipulators. Beginning with a review of robot kinodynamic models and preliminaries on basic statistical learning methods, the book covers fundamental aspects of the collision detection problem, from collision types and collision detection performance criteria to model-free versus model-based methods, and the more recent data-driven learning-based approaches to collision detection. Special effort has been given to describing and evaluating existing methods with a unified set of notation, systematically categorizing these methods according to a basic set of criteria, and summarizing the advantages and disadvantages of each method. This book is the first to comprehensively organize the growing body of learning-based collision detection methods, ranging from basic supervised learning methods to more advanced approaches based on unsupervised learning and transfer learning techniques. This book offers a comprehensive study concerning the reliability of renewable electricity production in the Faroe Islands. The first part reports on a RoadMap with investments in generation, storage and transmission capacity. Multiple scenarios, considering different technologies, are analysed. Practical constraints like the local resource potential, power plant locations and sizes are discussed, as well as the potential of tidal power. The second part of the book describes dynamic simulations studies carried out to investigate grid stability of the power system on the isolated island of Suðuroy. The available information about governor and automatic voltage regulators of the synchronous generators was very limited, therefore different approaches were combined to parameterise and validate the dynamic models. All in all, this book offers extensive information concerning the transition of the Faroese power system into a 100% renewable system. It ispractice-oriented, and describes methods that can be applied to other power systems as well.

Healthcare is shifting towards a holistic, whole person approach to improve population health, decrease cost of care, and improve patient, and provider experiences. To achieve this, the primary care sector is adopting an integrated, interprofessional care team model which addresses both biomedical and behavioral health, and includes preventative care, population health management, technology, and innovative strategies to increase access to care.
