Originally published in 1973, this volume consists of a sequence of essays in religious thinking, responsive to the impact of Quranic style and emphasis. First published in 1984, Death, Burial and the Individual in Early Modern England traces how and why the modern reaction to death has come about by examining English attitudes to death since the Middle Ages. Among Soviet-Jewish immigrants to the United States in the 1970s, more than 10,000 came from the Black Sea port and resort of Odessa. Aukhanov Bulat Gazizovich, internationally renowned choreographer, dancer, and founder of the State Theatre of Dance of Kazakhstan, records his remarkable life and journey to become the driving force for folkloric and classical ballet in this Central Asian nation.
