The objective of Cultural Inclusion is to demonstrate that persons with disabilities have made (and continue to make) vital contributions to Jamaican culture. The central argument, therefore, that persons with disabilities have made a vital contribution to Jamaican culture fills a critical gap in disability studies, ethnomusicology, and other scholarly research programmes.A solid piece of work that represents a major scholarly achievement, Cultural Inclusion should be a starting point for other researchers to look at areas from the entertainment industry where persons with disabilities have made significant contributions. Importantly also, this pioneering work will provide real data and research analysis for policy makers and decision makers at both the public and private level.Cultural Inclusion will appeal to a diverse audience, as it provides short and lively biographies both known and less well-known Jamaican musicians.

Risky Chances, the eighth installment of The Beadle Files, opens with LC Beadle in Buffalo meeting with a supposed informant, but soon enough determines that he's been snookered. A pair of ruffians warn him that Cody Fralick will very shortly be greeted by the Grim Reaper, then they proceed to beat the journalist until he is smothered into unconsciousness. The narrative is crisp and fast-paced, set mostly in Buffalo, New York--there are twists and turns that take the reader on a train trip from Colorado to the Queen City. A pair of mysterious female characters bring vivid memories from the past that in different ways rattle both Avis Lahay and Tatiyana Baglio. Meanwhile Jack Whistler continues to be the sly and crafty master of information, even as he is visited by shadowy wheelers and dealers. Ziggy Alder and Sara Mulder continue their adventurous escapades on the trail to Creede, where he hopes to find a kinsman's grave, as well as yearns to meet anyone who knew him who could tell some Uncle Whitey stories. Ziggy chatters constantly, regaling Sara with tall tales from his past, which are so entertaining that she seems to always want to hear another one.

No Longer Sick chronicles the latter stage of a young man's decade-long illness with End Stage Renal Disease. Told from a mother's heart, the account reveals not only the physical aspects specific to kidney disease--multiple hospitalizations, dialysis, kidney transplant, immunosuppression--but also the social, emotional, and mental hardships. This book is about youth, pain, post-traumatic stress disorder, opioid use, financial distress, family conflict, navigating a complex health care system, grief, and what goes into losing a person. The book honors a brave young man for his valiant fight.

"This book of stories from the Bible with activities sparks curiosity, imagination, and questions in young minds. Authors Anne-Maria Bankay and Doreen Ellis know the love of God and His love for little children. Their collaboration produced an engaging way for children to enjoy hearing or reading stories while being active. Bible Stories and Activities for Children engages four of the five senses, which enhances learning. The activities that accompany the stories encourage creativity and thinking. This book is fun. Each page excites children to turn the page as they eagerly wonder what is next!" Mondrell Oz - Area Director, Opened Bible Academy, Dallas-Fort Worth, USA "Filled with eight favourite Bible stories, this book should be an enjoyable read for children in the 3 to 6 year old age group. The stories are short and can be read by older children, or read by adults to younger children as nighttime stories, or at various children's church programs. The activities are cleverly integrated with each story and should be engaging and fun for the children to complete." Dr. Yewande Lewis-Fokum - Lecturer in English Language and Literacy, Teacher Training and Development, Faculty of Humanities and Education, The University of the West Indies, Mona
