The book explores how African Christians in Ghana can think eco-theologically about the nexus of mining, waste pollution, water pollution, and land degradation. In 2017, the government of Ghana banned illegal mining and declared war against any activity that does not complement environmental protection and conservation of natural resources. The Christian church needs academic resources to support the campaign against the destruction of the land, water bodies, and environment. The papers presented generate theological imaginations in shaping the political campaign against the destruction of the land and the environment. Reflection on areas related to the theme includes: ""The Concept of Land in the Bible""; ""The Christian Church and the Galamsey Menace in West Africa""; ""The Fulani Cattle Headsmen and Care for the Land""; ""The Bible and the Environment: Towards an Agenda for Eco-theology in African Theological Institutions""; ""Stewardship of the Land""; ""The Menace of Mining in Ghana""; ""Destruction of Water Bodies in Ghana""; and ""The Menace of Plastic Waste in Ghana."" This volume will serve as a textbook for theological students, the church, and other governmental agencies.

Discovering I had been abused was a shock, but being diagnosed with multiple personality disorder (MPD) was not. It held its own fascinations, from the way each alter talked, to the type of clothes they liked to wear. They even noticed different things about people. A mere blink of the eyes could mean a different alter was present. It was not an easy job for the therapist. Little Glenda, who was the last alter to make herself known, looked into peoples eyes to see what kind of person they were. She wrote these letters for our therapist, letting her know she hid in the background the whole time. She chose to endear our therapist with the name Mommy Twinkle Eyes.

  • - How the Gospel Works All by Itself
    av Robert Reese
    509

In Who Needs a Missionary? Robert Reese reviews his own missionary experiences in Zimbabwe and finds that the best results came from an indigenous leader who had the least contact with missionaries. Reese conducted interviews with this leader to let him speak for himself about his journey with God in ministry; these interviews form the heart of the book. Mostly without missionary guidance, this Zimbabwean Christian of humble origins journeyed from his conversion to Christ to arrive at a transformation of his home community. Reese draws lessons from the life of this remarkable leader, who has enjoyed so few earthly advantages, yet has been rich in faith and fruitfulness. God has determined that the gospel will work all by itself whenever and wherever it is planted in human hearts.

Jacob Klund, curious about what's in his deceased grandma's attic, snoops around. He finds a trunk full of old papers. Jacob's father, a history teacher, identifies this as a great treasure because of the dates on the papers, diaries, letters, and documents. The family decides to read through them at ""sharing times,"" after dinner. The trunk cache reveals detailed family history dating back to 1738.While immersed in the trunk's contents, the Klund family restores grandma's house and cheers for Liz, Jacob's sister, at regional and state spelling bees. They watch the civil rights movement on television and worry about the nuclear threat from the Soviets. As the 1960s begin, Allen Klund, Jacob's dad, perceives subtle changes in America's worldview and follows closely historic Supreme Court decisions that could affect his future in public education. He shares his concerns with his wife, Harriet, but he continues to teach in the system. Jacob, the novel's narrator, graduates from law school and joins a firm that handles freedom-of-religion cases. It is a step that his father hesitated to take, and he is proud of his son. Reflecting on the potential effects of Darwinism and Marxism, Jacob concludes the novel with a scathing parable called ""The Project.""""In Patriot Dreams, David Glunt's thorough knowledge of history is finely intertwined into his vivid narrative, evoking thoughtful questions about the future of America as it relates to God and country. This is much more than just a spellbinding historical novel.""--Jim Wootton, author of Real Estate Gift""It is critical that the next generation learn to think biblically. In this important work, Dave Glunt masterfully crafts historical narrative to invite us into the foundations of a biblical mind. As a Christian school educator, I look forward to our students gaining Scriptural understandings through Patriot Dreams. May this story of the past guide their thinking into the future.""--Todd Marrah, Superintendent, Tree of Life Christian Schools, Columbus, OHDavid Glunt earned a BA degree from Evangel University and an MA from Bowling Green State University. After many years of teaching history in public high schools, he anchored an evening television talk show. Glunt then became a textbook editor and writer for Glencoe/McGraw-Hill. For twelve years he taught at Tree of Life Christian High School and served as an adjunct faculty instructor at Columbus State University. Patriot Dreams was inspired by his family genealogy and his love for young people. Glunt now resides with his wife, Lois, in Summerville, South Carolina.
