For the first time in history, the USA and Russia have perceived a threat from Indian military technology. They must put it down. Satyan Sharma, a young entrepreneur, dreams of building a world-class software powerhouse. His big chance comes when his company is selected to design the 'brains' of high-tech artillery to be produced through collaboration between India and Uzbekistan. Neither USA nor Russia wants third-world upstarts in the global arms industry. They deploy their secret services to manipulate corrupt Indian politicians at the highest level and sabotage the project. The advancement in economic development, in industrial sector has helped us to achieve greater dependence in pre and post globalised world. In order to understand the internal dynamics of Indian Industrial sector, how it is performed during this period can be understood by the findings born out of a research which has been provided in this book. The introduction of technology as an obligatory means enforced within the sector with various degrees of implementation based on High, Medium, Medium Low and Lower usage. On the one hand the analysis and result has provided greater insights within and across India to foresee the implications with the optimal use of technology by minimizing the use of human resources and on the other it has also to do with the realization which is based on the principles of human development in all its manifestation. Policy makers need to provide a balance between industrial productivity and the importance of human intervention.Through the Make in India policy, it should not only provide an ecosystem where things are made in our country but also need to provide an unbiased opportunity to those who will be part of this Make in India initiative.

  • - A Postcolonial Study Of Select Dalit Novels
    av Saranya U.S. Saranya
    445

This book Narratives of Deconstruction: A Postcolonial Study of Select Dalit Fiction is my research. Being thematic in nature, the book is divided into five chapters. The main objective of the book is to bring out the common issues in the select Dalit realistic narratives. Instead of going for a mere textual analysis, I focused on the indepth analysis of each novel taking the thematic issues into consideration. The text deals with the life aspects of Dalit communities. Dalit literature as a form, from its simplest beginning has now grown into a special and unique form of literature that aims at protesting for the civil rights, especially of the marginalized sections of the country including tribes and minorities. Dalit Novels among the other literary forms remains a successful genre in representing the issues of Dalit culture and movements in Dalit idiom. It is through Dalit Novels, the writers express their sufferings, sorrows and victimization due to the oppressive culture of caste Hindus. The Dalit novel makes the reader understand that insecure childhood, ever dependence for the assistance of the Government, Sociocultural oppression, gender dominance, exploitation in paying the daily wages, sexual harassment at the workplaces and physical attacks, police cases and political influence are the day to day experiences of the Dalits. Through their memories, the Dalits reconstruct their broken and long silenced history and demonstrate their rights and identity duly reconstituting themselves with the rest of Dalit communities. The Dalit novel is of rich experiences of the Dalits and paved the way for the formation of their col lect ive consciousnes srightly identifying themselves to fight against the Caste and Gender hierarchy.

Caste has been a major defining characteristic of Indian society. It has its origins in early India and finds mention in Hindu scriptures. There have been efforts by the likes of Gautam Budhha, Kabir, Ambedkar who have challenged and opposed this social system. Despite the change in the patterns of society the caste rigidities have not been done away with till today. This is a system of structural hierarchy which needs to be annihilated. During freedom movement the foundation of an equal society were laid. The freedom of the country gave a big hope that the Indian Constitution and its norms will ensure the eradication of this system, but it persists in newer forms. There have been social streams which have been preserving the graded structure of our society. The book is compilation of essays and articles which highlight the salient features of the caste system, the ideology which aims to preserve it and the struggles which are going on to eradicate the same. The book traces the principles and forms of the campaigns/movements aiming at society with Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.

Jammu and Kashmir is a heterogeneous state with varied geographical regions and sub-regions, representing different climates, flora and fauna. People possess different ethnic backgrounds, profess different faiths, follow different cultural traditions and speak different languages. What is more significant is that people living in these regions are yet to attain a uniform level of economic development. The internal politics of the state, marked by intra- regional tensions, has influenced the attitude of the people on the question of their external affiliations. In each of the three regions of the state, Kashmir valley, Jammu and Ladakh, a different attitude on the issue of accession can be clearly noticed from the very day of the state's accession to India. A sort of local nationalism has developed in all the three regions of the state. People's alienation from the national identity has been constant problem in Kashmir since long. They tend to give more importance to ethno - religious and regional identities than to considerations of unified state and the nation. The present work provides a scholarly understanding of the nature of intra-regionalism and its framework for resolution. It also explores the way out for the larger issue of Kashmir problem while emphasizing the internal dynamics of Kashmir politics.

Students who are in undergraduate programs either 3 year or 4 year programs or studying in 5 year integrated Post graduate programs in different disciplines, find it very difficult to get an over view / basics of metabolic regulation and in fact find it daunting to know all the details going through bulky text books. There are also students pursuing UG and PG programs in Engineering & Technology discipline related to Biotechnology. These students are not in need of exhaustive details but only the core details. In addition to students studying in regular mode in India there are many UG and PG programs in life sciences offered in a distance education mode also called correspondence courses. India has many distance education centers both in India and abroad which is likely to be further expanded. Further students appearing for oral interviews for advanced studies both within the country and by telephone/skype from foreign countries need the core concepts rather than exhaustive details. In particular this text would be highly useful for such students.

This book highlights the regional disparities in India in terms of per capita income, HDI as well as its components and in respect of the measures of human poverty index over a period of 30 years since the 1980s. Appropriate statistical and economic tools are used to determine the causes of socioeconomic disparities across Indian states. The signs of progress in economic and social indicators have been found in few states while other states lag behind, implying thereby unevenness and unequal spread of the benefits of economic growth among the states of India. The book also identifies the factors underlying divergence in economic and social activity in India and provides policy suggestions for bringing about more balanced and inclusive development in India.

  • - Reflections From Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
    av Kooloju Naveen Kooloju

Having understood the necessity of poverty alleviation alongside financial inclusion through microfinance intervention, this book makes an attempt to fill the knowledge gap in relation to the potential synergies among microfinance, poverty alleviation and financial inclusion. As a part of empirical study, it examines the correlation between poverty alleviation and financial inclusion by thoroughly analyzing the key microfinance models such as SHG-Bank Linkage Program (SBLP) model, Microfinance Institutions (MFI) model and Business Correspondent (BC) Model; and offers some interesting observations, which are quite relevant in the present policy context. It also makes an effort to address one of the fundamental questions as to why the poor, especially women are unabatedly depending upon MFIs, despite the successful functioning of SBLP model in fulfilling the same objective. This book is a reminder of the fact that any effort to achieve complete financial inclusion without alleviating poverty is a futile exercise and financial inclusion would be successful only if financial literacy is vigorously promoted along with poverty alleviation schemes and programs.
